From Geeky Beginnings....

I’m an independent jeweler and designer specializing in fine jewelry made with stunning colored gemstones. I run a small, quality business with discerning clients all over the world.

I’m an incurable geek with an addiction to Firefly, Supernatural, White Collar, Stargate Atlantis, Flashpoint, and way too many other awesome television shows. It was the TV show Firefly that jump-started my career in the jewelry business, and I don’t think I’ve caught up on sleep since!

We grew from a tiny niche business operated from my living room couch to a thriving garage operation specialized in gemstone stud earrings. Next we expanded into producing custom engagement rings and never looked back!

This job has seen me climbing to a hilltop amethyst mine in Namibia, clubbing with celebrities in LA, and haggling with Thai gem dealers. Being a jeweler lies at the intersection of many fascinating fields from gemology and metalworking to fashion modeling and typography.

I've made it my business from the very beginning to be involved in the origins of my gemstones, from mining to cutting, and to buy as close to the source as possible. That way I can ensure that the people who produced your gems are getting the profit from their resources and labor - not international middlemen. Your purchase enables me to support individuals and micro-businesses all around the world, in places where the income is desperately needed.

I use only reclaimed precious metals, so as not to support environmentally harmful mining and questionable labor practices. All impurities are refined out of recycled metals as they are melted down and re-alloyed at US refineries, producing perfect quality metals.

One of my many passions is colored gemstones, the jewelry trade term for anything that is not a diamond. Most traditional fine jewelers and chains have a limited (not to mention sometimes inaccurate) grasp on the complex world of rare and beautiful colored gemstones.

A growing specialty for the last couple of years has been creating same-sex engagement rings. The reception has been so positive that we are preparing to launch a website devoted exclusively to serving same sex couples.

Now that we've grown into having employees, I look forward to growth leading to providing additional jobs in the future, and to being a quality employer making a positive impact to others.

Please take a look at our store and contact us if we can answer any jewelry or gemstone questions for you!

Cheers,
Jessi

Production partners

  • Casting Service

    RI, United States

Some of our jewelry, is professionally cast from my molds by our casting partner. They use US-refined recycled precious metals, with all production done in the US. The blank castings are then sent to me for stone setting and finishing.

  • CAM Services and Casting

    LA, United States

When you order one of my made to order CAD rings, the CAD file is sent to my production partners who use sophisticated Computer Aided Machining tools to carve a wax mold and make a casting exactly matching the specifications in the CAD file.

Frequently asked questions
Does your jewelry contain nickel?

Our sterling silver, platinum, and yellow gold alloys do not contain any nickel. Our white gold, however, does contain nickel and should be avoided by those with allergies.

Are your listings for one earring or two?

All of our listings are for two earrings by default; we'd never pull a deceptive trick like only selling you one earring! No bamboozle.

When we offer singles for sale, that is noted prominently in the item title and the first part of the description so that you can't miss it.

Can you rush my order, or make sure it arrives by a certain date?

The main answer is: It depends. Please feel free to contact us and ask for any special options you'd like us to address.

PLEASE NOTE: Paying for expedited shipping only changes the length of time it takes for the postal service to deliver your order. It does not affect the time we require to actually produce your items. Please check the "ship by date" on your email confirmation.

Do you have other sizes available?

If you don't see the size you want in the gem you're looking for, drop us a line! We may well be able to order it for you :)

I see a ring I like, but it's outside my budget. Can you help me?

Absolutely! We're experts at suggesting different metal, stone, and design choices to bring a ring into the range of your budget. We can often shave hundreds or even thousands off the price of a ring by making certain changes, so don't hesitate to get in touch!

I see a ring I like. Can you make it in sterling silver so it will cost less?

We usually can! We're happy to give you a quote. A word of warning: our custom and semi-custom rings have high fixed costs that are unfortunately not tied to raw materials cost, so the price may not drop as much as you'd hope.

We have found in most cases people are prone to save up a bit and get a ring in gold, rather than pay hundreds for a silver ring. That said, we have sold a number of beautiful custom silver rings to very happy clients!

Do you work with titanium, stainless steel, or similar metals?

We only work with precious metals: gold, platinum, palladium, and silver. Precious metals are formed into jewelry using casting and brazing techniques, while nontraditional metals are machined. We are not set up to do machining.

Statement regarding COVID-19

All our earrings are created in our home studio in Oregon, USA; we are following sanitation and handwashing protocols. After polishing, earrings are cleaned with aggressive degreasing detergents, then saturated with isopropyl alcohol. When dry, they are placed in their plastic packaging with well-washed hands. It is also safe to disinfect our earrings with isopropyl alcohol.

We cannot know who touches our shipping boxes along their journeys, but if you wash your hands after opening your package and before handling your purchased items, you should not have any issues in that regard. All this is our everyday protocol, not just a Coronavirus response, but we hope it will help assure our customers that we are being as careful as we can be.
