How I Started Writing Tutorials and Never Looked Back

Getting here on Etsy involved a lot of melodrama. I was supposed to work in one of the biggest electric company in the Philippines that my father used to work for. I was dragging myself from one interview to another, and I wasn't happy. I wanted to pursue my jewelry design business, but my parents weren't really jumpin' for joy about my dream.

But as the last born in the family, I was stubborn. While waiting for interviews, I started making bridal accessories and posting them here on Etsy under the shop name LuciaManila. While my bridal shop was already running, I just thought of opening another shop where I sell millinery supplies. I was happy in selling supplies, but I had trouble with the logistics.

Being a former jewelry designer and a trained Special Educator, I suddenlty thought of writing fabric flower tutorials. I love photography and I love to teach in the first place, so why not start making easy to follow ebooks?

Writing ebooks is very challenging but I enjoy ever part of the process. I love (no, I obsess) planning the right sequence and at the same time taking and choosing the right pictures that would help my readers understand the lesson best.

Right now, what keeps me inspired in making more tutorials are my talented readers who saved a lot of money in their wedding when they made their own flowers with the help of my tutorials. Some of them also opened their own shops here on Etsy and started gaining clients because of the quality of their designs.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use the flowers that I will make from your tutorials for my business?

Yes! Of course! I made these tutorials with the intent to help designers and small business owners to expand their creativity and of course their businesses.

Can I use your pictures as my product pictures?

No. Definitely not. Be proud of your own creations!

Oh no! I made a duplicate purchase! What can I do?

Relax. Don't worry. I check every order that I get and if there's a duplicate order I refund your duplicate order/s as soon as I get to my computer (which is everyday).
