About JewelsBowsandBeyond

Sales 19
On Etsy since 2019

Since I can remember I have always wanted to own my own business, to help others, to make a difference. And over the years I have done various things that have aligned with my desire to help and to make a difference, something was always missing though. None of was really my own. So I longed for more. I figured maybe when I retired I might finally get to have my own little business. Then life changed for me when I was diagnosed with a rare heart/lung disease that was incurable. A traditional 9-5 job was not going to be possible while I lived to adjust to my new life. I kept thinking about unfair it was that my life was changed in split second. At the same time in the back my mind I kept hearing a saying that I once heard UNC Basketball legend Coach Dean Smith say, “I will quit when it is no longer fun to come to work anymore. Then I will do something else I enjoy.” Well truth is I never really liked traditional jobs, they were not fun. The jobs I enjoyed the most were the ones were I got to use my creativity while also helping others, bringing others joy. So I got back to making jewelry something I am good at, I could do from my home or on the road so I didn’t have to worry about explaining my medical situation, and it brought joy to others.

I had $50 “extra” dollars I could spend and off I went to buy supplies. After a few weeks I looked at my amazing wife and said let’s go to some shows around town for fun. I applied to several thinking it was a long shot. Much to my surprise I was selected. We did two shows in less than a month. I had no idea what to expect, I just did not want to fail! I needed these to be a success so I set out to be different from other jewelers. I did want my stuff to look like everyone else. So I thought what are some things I love, what is unique. Then it came to me I have always wanted to learn guitar but I am not musically incline at all! And really I just love guitar picks but other than in music stores you just don’t see them. So it was right that moment I had what was going to set me apart, jewelry with guitar picks.

Frequently asked questions
Are custom orders available

Yes, I would be happy to make you custom piece. Have an idea ask me. The worse that can happen is I say it isn’t not something I am comfortable doing.

Do you sell rings?

Rings will be very limited. But you will from time to time see them. Although, rings are small they are quite time consuming so I do them mostly as special orders.
