About

A Journey of Exploration and Learning

My story really starts with my love for doing and making things...all kinds of things. I love to learn and figure out how to do things from start to finish. I have a particularly keen interest in the past, antiques and by-gone crafts. Much of what I am doing today is part of a process, where one thing I am interested in leads to another. As is common for people who like to "create" after a while you have more creations than you can personally use.

Over the years, I have given things to friends and relatives and they encouraged me to sell my items. My first experience doing that was in the fall of 2011. There was a fall festival in our small town, so I bought a tent and went to work building some inventory. At that time I only had my rug hook coasters and hot pads, some of my hand spun yarn, a few scarves I had knitted and my scented rice filled microwavable heating pads. We had great weather and I had a successful show and really enjoyed it. My husband was very supportive and when talking to his friends was encouraged to tell me about Etsy. One of his co-workers sells hand made wooden pens here.

In November 2011, I looked into it and opened my Etsy shop with the same items I had in my booth.

Since I first opened my shop it has been a journey, expanding and learning. I added a whole line of jewelry in the spring of 2012 which is where I found my niche. I began with jewelry when my daughter, who does not have pierced ears, wanted earrings for Christmas, but didn't want "traditional clip ons" which, lets face it, are not comfortable. So we looked and looked and just couldn't find what she was looking for. I was inspired by some of the ear cuffs I found here on Etsy but still needed to tweak the design to fit her request. She has been a great inspiration and often gives me ideas for new designs.

Since then I have really embraced Jewelry Design, branching out into other areas including bracelets, stamped with inspirational quotes, necklaces and elf ear wraps. I have recently added handmade leather bags and some beaded designs. Everyday I continue to learn and follow my creative muse down whatever path she takes me. I am really enjoying designing new and unique items, often getting ideas and inspiration from custom requests. I love working directly with my clients to create special one of a kind pieces.

I am excited about being a business owner and really am enjoying this adventure! Thank you for your interest and support in my hand crafted work. I am humbled by the support of my customers, I just love working for YOU!
