About

Vintage-Inspired Hats for the Modern Man & Woman

You don't need a special occasion in order to wear a hat. A hat should be a stylish accessory, just like a purse, tie, or a pair of shoes. Whether it's a Mad Hatter tea party, elegant evening out, or just a regular day at the office, you will find the perfect hat here! Vintage-inspired felt hats that appeal to the modern man and woman.

Each hat is lovingly handmade over a period of several days, and all finishing seams are done by hand. Only the highest-quality millinery felt, veiling, and other materials and decorations are used. First, the felt is steamed and shaped over a block, then allowed to dry for about 24 hours. Once dry, the felt is painted with a special stiffener, so that it will retain its shape. Once this has dried, the felt is removed from the block, and any excess carefully trimmed off. Next, the wire is measured and sewn in the hat. If the hat is composed of two pieces, these are then hand-stitched together. Ribbon is sewn around the crown, and millinery grosgrain is hand-sewn around the inside opening of the hat. Next, whatever veiling and decorations are added, being carefully hand-sewn onto the hat. Finally, after a period of several days, the hat is finished and ready to be worn!

I have had an ongoing love affair with vintage hats for years! I work almost exclusively with felt, and take my inspiration from the tilt topper hats of the 1930's and 1940's. Feathers are my decoration of choice. While I mainly work with modern materials, I try and incorporate vintage millinery decorations into my designs whenever possible.

Payment
All sales are final!

PayPal is the only payment I accept. Payment is due within 2 days of purchase, or I will cancel your order and re-list the item.

LAYAWAY/RESERVATIONS: I do not offer layaway at this time.

In-Stock items can be reserved for up to 7 days, with full payment expected by the end of the 7th day. If you ask to have an item reserved for you and fail to follow through with the payment within this time frame, the item will be relisted and no more reservation requests will be accepted from you.

A NOTE ABOUT RESERVATIONS: Reservations can be made for SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY. A reservation is essentially an agreement between a buyer and seller to purchase an item at a specified later date. If you are not serious about purchasing an item, please do not ask to reserve it!!
Shipping
Due to our remote country location & busy farm/innkeeping lives, it may take up to 5 business days to ship an in-stock item once your payment has cleared (unless otherwise stated in the listing). If you require an item sooner, please convo me BEFORE you place your order. I ship USPS Priority (or Priority International) with Delivery Confirmation & Insurance.

Please note that I do not refund any shipping charges. Even if the actual cost to ship is less than quoted, this does not add in time, packing materials, and gas to drive to the post office.

Once the package is in the mail, it is out of my hands. At that point, I am not responsible for lost, damaged, unclaimed, or stolen packages, nor am I responsible for incorrect PayPal addresses. Customs fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please convo me for a shipping quote!

CUSTOM ORDERS: If you are ordering a custom-made hat, please allow 2-4 weeks before the item is ready to be shipped out.
Refunds and Exchanges
All sales are final! Please keep in mind that handmade items are unique, and no two items will be exactly alike. Vintage millinery decorations may have the occasional age-related flaws. When I use vintage decorations, I do my best to note any flaws.

For in-stock items: I do not accept returns unless I have made a mistake in your order or have grossly misrepresented the item. Therefore, please check measurements and ask ALL questions BEFORE you make your purchase!!! If there is a problem with your order, you must contact me within 24 hours of receiving the package.

For custom orders: I try and work closely with the buyer to make sure that I am creating exactly what they have envisioned. I will always contact the buyer after completing the hat(s), but before shipping, with pictures and details for the buyer's final approval. In the event that, upon receiving the item, the buyer is unhappy, they must contact me with 24 hours of delivery to discuss return/refund options. Returned items must be received in the SAME CONDITION that they were sent in, and return shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer. I do not pay return shipping charges! Once I receive the returned item and have verified the condition, I will refund your purchase price plus initial shipping charges via PayPal.
Additional policies and FAQs
CUSTOM ORDERS: You must inform me of your choice of felt colors at the time of your order (either through a convo, or in a note with the order). This choice cannot be changed after you make your order. Because I must special order my felts from an outside source, I am unable to change my order if you change your mind. If you decide that you absolutely must have a different color, you will be charged the price of both felt colors.

I love a creative challenge!: Have you noticed a felt hat out of a vintage magazine that you absolutely adored but could never find in-person? Contact me, and I might be able to recreate it for you!
