The Beginning
I began my Etsy shop and my business in June of 2007, after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and finding myself searching for a job. I had just moved in to my very first, very expensive and very tiny apartment in Brooklyn. It was also very loud because there happened to be an elevated subway train that passed right across the street from my window. But it was mine, and I loved it.
I started my shop with some of my now famous House Rings that I had leftover from an unsuccessful show I did. I priced them way too low, because I was just feeling like no one wanted them. They were too weird, and no one would buy them. While I had gotten lots of compliments on them, I had not sold more than one at that point. But I needed money to get my life started in my new city.
They sold immediately. People were begging for more! I got so many compliments and conversations and all of a sudden I was custom making more and more rings. Even some Etsy admins were buying them.
Then the questions came. Do you make necklaces? Earrings? And people started sending me stories, telling me why they were buying them, who they were going to give them to and why they were so touched by them. I was so inspired by my new found customers and collectors to keep creating more pieces that were just as special to them as they were to me.
This was five apartments ago. (Yes, that is how we gauge time in New York City.) Now my studio runs much more smoothly, in its own little room in my apartment that I share with my husband and daughter, instead of in the corner of the only room in my apartment, with the J train flying by the window.

Born and raised in Ohio, I studied Metalsmithing at Syracuse University, worked as a polisher and repair jeweler in Michigan, then moved to NYC for more jewelry education at the Fashion Institute and to start my business in my Brooklyn apartment!

Roni Casting produces my molds from my hand fabricated or carved models. The also do all my casting, since they have expensive equipment and years of expertise that I do not! All jewelry finishing is done by myself in my Columbus, Ohio studio.

Returns and exchanges
If an item is lost or damaged in the mail, Jill K Davis Jewelry takes full responsibility and will replace or repair the item in a timely manner free of charge.
If an item doesn't fit properly (the ring is the wrong size, the necklace is not short or long enough) and you were sent the size/length that you asked for specifically, the item will be resized at a charge that will be determined and an additional shipping charge.
If an item doesn't fit properly and you were not sent the size/length you asked for, the item will be resized free of charge.
Payment
**All Ohio State Residents will be responsible for paying 7% Sales Tax**
Shipping
Domestic orders will be received 2 to 5 days from ship date.
International orders should be received 10 to 14 days from ship date. However, please allow up to 30 days for delivery due to the unpredictability of customs.
After a purchase is made, an email will be sent detailing when your item will be shipped. Custom orders will be dealt with on an individual basis while most other orders will be shipped within 3 days of purchase unless otherwise specified.
Please note: International customers are responsible for any and/or all Customs fees, taxes, and duties associated with shipping & purchasing to their respective countries, should they be assessed. Most country's Customs agencies open and/or assess fees to a random selection of packages. Any customs fees, taxes, tariffs, duties, etc. that may be incurred at the time of delivery would be at the discretion of your country's tax regulations. We have no way of calculating how much these fees would be, should they occur, and we are not responsible for those charges. For any additional information please refer to your local customs agency.
