- Shipping insurance covers lost shipments and shipments damaged because of neglect by the shipping courier.
- To reduce cost, I ship to the United States, but not to APOs, AFOs, or DPOs.
- My default shipping type for orders under $50.00 is USPS First-Class Mail without insurance. In some cases, I may instead ship using USPS Priority Mail at no additional charge.
- If you have an order of less than $50.00 and wish to add shipping insurance, please contact me before or immediately after you place the order to request an upgrade to Priority Mail. I will create a custom listing for the shipping upgrade. For most smaller shipments, it should cost $1.10 to $1.30.
- If you place an order of $50.00 or more, I will always use Priority Mail and include the appropriate amount of insurance for your order. Depending on the size and value of the order, an additional shipping/insurance cost may apply.
> Etsy does not allow sellers to let customers select different shipping options on a single listing, and most of the orders I receive are very small. Therefore, I use a standard $4.50 shipping rate on my listings. If someone places a larger order that costs $8.00+ to put together, insure, and ship, I must account for this with a custom listing to cover the additional costs.
> Please contact me before you order if you have questions about the shipping costs for an order you plan to make.

- Includes $50.00 of insurance unless more is added
- Includes tracking (delivery confirmation)

USPS First-Class Mail
- Arrives in about two to four days (not guaranteed)
- Insurance must be purchased separately
- Includes tracking (delivery confirmation)

REVIEWS (last updated on 3/6/2014):

For any purchase at my shop, you can leave a star rating of up to five stars in addition to a comment (which Etsy calls a "review"). **Please allow me to try to help or discuss the situation with you if you are planning to leave a star rating of fewer than five stars.** I want to ensure your satisfaction with me as a seller and with the product you have purchased.

By the time you receive the item, you should be allowed the post a review under Your Accounts > Purchases. You can post your review for up to 60 days after the item was shipped. Your review will help me and others understand how your shopping experience with me was, so please do post one when you can.

RETURN EXCLUSIONS (last updated on 9/8/2013):

Please be sure to review the listing and photographs of the items carefully before buying to be sure that the item, size, color, and material are what you intended to purchase. For custom items, please read the listing carefully and follow the ordering instructions so that I can make just the piece you are looking for.

Returns are not accepted for (1) “buyer’s remorse” situations (changing one's mind about the purchase), (2) non-defective earrings, or (3) jewelry where the incorrect size was requested at purchase time. Certain items purchased as gifts may be accepted for exchange, so please inquire if necessary. If you are not sure of your ring size and want to order a ring from my shop, please first stop into a jewelry store to be sized--this is the most accurate way to find out what size you wear.

DAMAGED MERCHANDISE (last updated on 9/8/2013):

I always pack items carefully to ensure that no breakage occurs in transit because of how the items were packaged when shipping. You may purchase shipping insurance if you would like, to cover any damage or loss in transit because of the shipping courier's process of transporting your shipment (see "Shipping Policy").

DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE (last updated on 3/11/2014):

Replacements on defective items will be provided free of charge, minus any costs to ship the items to me. “Defective items” are those that become damaged or excessively worn within 30 days of purchase* because of defects in artisanship. This warranty applies as common sense and the provided care instructions (shown under "Additional Information" on my Policies page, and included with your purchase) are followed. Please contact me within 35 days of purchase** to arrange for a replacement.

*Purchases made between November 1 and the following January 5 will have a 90-day replacement period.
**For purchases made between November 1 and the following January 5, please contact me within 95 days of purchase to request a replacement.

MATERIALS USED FOR WIRE-WRAPPED RINGS (last updated on 9/8/2013):

- Copper-colored non-tarnish wire is 99.9% copper with a nylon coating on top to prevent tarnish.
- Bright silver-colored non-tarnish wire is 99.9% copper with fine (99.9%) silver and then nylon layered on top.
- Titanium-colored non-tarnish wire is 99.9% copper with fine (99.9%) silver, colored enamel, and nylon layered on top.
- Swarovski crystal is leaded glass (Austrian crystal).

If you wear these rings gently and do not attempt to clean the wire, the nylon coating will continue to protect them from tarnish.

For wire-wrapped rings (last updated on 3/6/2014):

- Take off rings before washing your hands, applying lotion or gel to your hands, washing dishes, swimming, or handling any chemicals (generally, avoid exposing the ring to any chemicals or soaps that could degrade the anti-tarnish coating)
- To clean wire, wipe with a soft, damp cloth and gently wipe dry
- Do NOT immerse or rinse the wire in water, to help ensure that any spots where the anti-tarnish coating may be chipped do not begin to tarnish
- Wipe Swarovski crystal with water and a soft cloth, or use a microfiber cloth to help remove fingerprints
- Take care not to rub or tap Swarovski Crystal against hard surfaces (it is glass and can chip or scratch)
- Avoid rubbing or tapping the wire band on hard surfaces to ensure that the anti-tarnish coating remains intact
- Avoid leaving in hot cars or direct sunlight, as the copper inside will get hot and soften

For sterling silver and silver-plated metals (NOT including wire-wrapped rings--last updated on 3/6/2014):

- Wear the piece regularly--some oil from your skin can help prevent tarnish, provided the jewelry does not get too soiled
- Gently wash with slightly warm (not hot) water and mild soap, and then dry completely with a soft cloth
- At your own risk, you can try using white toothpaste and a soft toothbrush to clean silver-plated or sterling-silver items--just be aware that it may scratch the surface
- Store sterling-silver and silver-plated jewelry in a silvercloth bag or box, or in plastic zipper bags
- To slow tarnishing, store silver/silver-plated pieces separately from other metal pieces
- Occasionally polish with an appropriate polishing cloth
- Use jewelry cleaners, according to their instructions, that are safe for the specific metal and other materials in the piece

General jewelry tips and reminders (last updated on 3/6/2014):

- Do not wear cologne, perfume, or lotion under jewelry (chemicals can permanently alter the color or finish of jewelry)
- Store tarnishable jewelry pieces individually in plastic zipper bags to prevent tarnishing
- Avoid using ultrasonic jewelry-cleaning machines on oxidized (antiqued) metals or metals with an anti-tarnish coating
- Plated metals have a layer of one metal on top of another, so they will eventually show the metal underneath if they are polished many times
- Store metal jewelry away from humidity and high heat
- Elastic or stretchy cord breaks down and weakens with age and repeated stretching; try not to stretch it unnecessarily
- Be very careful when cleaning natural materials like gemstones (semiprecious stones), shells, pearls, and porous stones--use a jewelry-cleaning cloth or solution meant specifically for these materials, and store away from sunlight
- A Sunshine jewelry-polishing cloth can safely clean many types of jewelry and metal (read instructions before using)
- Always rinse and thoroughly dry jewelry immediately after cleaning it
- Avoid exposing jewelry made with thread, natural cord materials, or stretchy/elastic cord to water or soap
- Avoid putting unnecessary stress on chain, clasps, or elastic bands
