About

Here is my shop story.

When I was a young child I loved to draw, sketch and doodle. I knew that one day I wanted to have a job with no health insurance, no stability and constant stress. I decided that an artist would be the best path to take.

So here I am in my late 30's, painting and sketching away. What a hoot.

Hi,

My name is Jim Ether and I'm an artist from Ohio. I make a bunch of things and I like to experiment with new ideas. Some of the time something I make ends up on this website right here, Etsy.com.

I like making stuff and I like it when the stuff ends up in the hands of someone else who will enjoy it.

Payment
Through my Etsy page I accept a few forms of payment.

My preferred method of payment is pay pal because it's all *zap*pow* and the transaction is all done.

If you would rather not deal with pay pal I would be happy to accept a personal check or money order for whatever item you like.

In the case of a personal check, I will not mail the item until I've deposited the check and it's cleared. For a money order I'll send the item out the day I receive the money order.
Shipping
I ship using the USPS. They do not offer First Class shipping after a certain weight which is why pieces above 9"x12" don't have the option.

By choosing Priority mail, you're given a tracking number when it's shipped to keep tabs on your piece(s). I pass that information on to you once I've sent it. Depending on the post office I go to, they sometimes give tracking numbers with first class mail but sometimes they don't. Shipping costs also depend on the clerk. Everyone seems to do things a little bit different. That's what makes things so confusing.

Since Etsy has begun offering calculated shipping I've taken advantage of that in hopes that they've got all their ducks in a row and I (and you) are not being screwed in the shipping department. Since it's relatively new I don't know yet. I'm 99% sure it's not you getting screwed, so that's good (right?)

INTERNATIONAL STUFF

Once a piece reaches certain dimensions (I believe it's 16"x20") the rates skyrocket from around $20 to $50. That's why large pieces don't offer an international rate. In the past I've recreated pieces on rolled posterboard for people which brings the costs waaaaaay down for shipping. If you're outside of America and wish for a large piece from me, I'd be happy to work with you creatively to make it happen. Please get in touch.

The cost of shipping supplies and handling has also been included in shipping. These items are..wax paper, brown wrapping paper, labels, printer ink, gasoline to drive to the post office and my time waiting in line. It's .25 cents for small stuff and not more than a buck for the big stuff.

Any more questions you have about shipping please get in touch. Thanks.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy with the things you buy from me. If you don't like something you get, think I've misrepresented it on the website or it comes to you in pieces let me know. We'll work something out.
