I like it but there were a few mistakes like using the word "diameter" when she means circumference. There is a big difference. Also, wanted to know how it is possible to work the bottom lacy part without first sewing the fronts and back together.

About

Making Crochet Modern, One Hat & Pattern at a Time.

JJCrochet, like most businesses started by 14 year old girls, has an interesting beginning. It's a story of God's provision and perfect timing.

I learned to crochet when I was 8 years old. The summer before my freshman year of high school, I had scoliosis surgery. Bedridden with nothing to do but recover, I spent the next few months crocheting. I had so many hats that I jokingly told my mom since my friends stopped accepting crocheted hats, I'd have to sell them to strangers.

My mom, however, is a not a woman to be joked with.

The following day, my mom gave me $200 worth of yarn “just to get me started”. My dad was also supportive of his [favorite] daughter’s entrepreneurial endeavors and for my 14th birthday, bought me a website domain. Coming from a family of 1 librarian, 1 engineer, and 0 entrepreneurs, it was a big step, but I wouldn't have taken the risk without their support.

When I was first diagnosed with scoliosis, I didn't know why. I was angry at God for making me go try physical therapy, wearing a brace and finally had no choice but to have a serious surgery. God's plans are more infinite than our own. Had I not had the surgery, I never would have had the opportunity to share the talents he's given me. JJCrochet was founded in the summer of 2003 and has been growing every since.

I have so enjoyed learning about others who crochet and sharing my passions with new friends. I'm thankful God has blessed me with this gift and put my tiny hands to good use.

If you have any questions, I would love to chat with you - please feel free to shoot me a quick message.

I feel most satisfied when I have a hook and a skein of yarn in hand. I crochet and create and design and enjoy sharing my passion with others.
