Seattle based Encaustic Artist

Throughout my life I have taken art classes and dabbled in all kinds of medium. I have a BFA in Graphic Design and have been a life long artist. In 2010 I discovered encaustics. In 2018 I rented my first studio and pursued my dream of having a dedicated space to create art. The paintings in my shop are what I am currently creating.

Artists Statement
I have always lived near a body of water. My childhood was spent swimming, floating, and fishing on a river in Southern Oregon. This was the beginning of my love for water. After spending two summers on Orcas Island and then visiting Seattle as a young adult, I knew I needed to live near the Puget Sound. I moved to Seattle in 1996.

My encaustics are interpretations of the water I see around me and the places I travel. The lines began by observing how nature and the urban environment overlap. They have evolved to suggest perspective and depth in the paintings.

To me, water is peaceful and calming. Evoking these feelings is my intent.
