Announcement   Welcome to JMurray Studio. All of my pottery is either wheel-thrown or hand-built by me in my studio. All of my work is original; I do not use any poured molds or decals on my pottery. Each piece of my pottery is made with attention to detaiI with lots of love "thrown" in. I use several different clay bodies to achieve varied results in style and color and all glazes are food-safe unless otherwise stated. I make my pottery with the hope that it will be used and enjoyed every day; it is oven, microwave and dishwasher safe, although I do recommend hand washing to maintain the integrity of the glazes and to protect the more delicate pieces.

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTIONS AND SHIPPING POLICIES CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING. I make every effort to describe items and their measurements as accurately as possible. You will receive the exact item as pictured; I do not use stock photos. If you have any questions regarding size, color, shape, etc., PLEASE contact me BEFORE purchasing to avoid any confusion.

I hope you will enjoy your visual stroll thru the Studio. I add new items as quickly as I can get them produced and photographed, so please visit often. If you have any questions about what you see (or would like to see) in my shop, please feel free to contact me.

About

I just like to make things.

My first experience with clay was as a little girl when I discovered it tucked in along the shoreline of a Minnesota lake. I dug it out and made pinch pots, glazing them with old oil paints that I found in our shed. It was love at first sight. From there it was watercolors, textiles and beautiful papers; but I especially love working with clay; making something beautiful and unique from a ball of, well, mud. For me, being a potter is more than physically forming the clay; it's where I can totally immerse myself in the process, transcending time and conscious thought. I may begin with a plan or idea, but in the end, the clay decides what it will become. I try to learn something new every day, to improve and inspire - to make my pottery useful, special and unique. I create from the heart - what I do is truly a labor of love.

Most of the vintage items offered on this site are from my own personal collection of pottery, art, textiles and miscellaneous little things I have found over the years. Flea markets are a passion (and a curse) and as I have been a collector for most of my life, I have amassed a lot of "stuff" that still sits in boxes waiting for me to rediscover and fall in love with all over again. I am one of those people who gets attached to "things" and sometimes it's hard to let go, but eventually they will make their way into my shop. I offer a few of them now in the hopes that they will find good homes with some of you :)

I also do a little artwork aside from pottery, so some of my weavings, mixed media and other items may appear from time to time.

I hope you enjoy browsing the Studio and that you will visit again soon.

Shipping
Currently, my shipping fees are based on the cost of shipping to the West Coast to more accurately reflect shipping to the furthermost regions of the country. Your individual shipping cost may be considerably less, depending on where you live. Shipping costs to Alaska may be more than quoted in my prices. If shipping is considerably more to Alaska residents, I may contact you for additional postage. **Any overage in shipping fees will be refunded once your package has been shipped if in excess of $2.**

I will ship your purchase as cost effectively as possible, utilizing either UPS or USPS, (priority or ground) usually in 1-3 business days unless stated otherwise. If your mail is delivered to a Post Office box, please provide an alternative physical address for delivery of your purchase.

Your purchase is insured with the US postal service if shipped priority mail. I prefer shipping priority mail as your package will usually arrive faster and with less handling by the postal service (less chance of breakage). Larger items can cost substantially more to send; I try to estimate postage on larger items, but not knowing the destination and size / weight of the packaging to be used, it's difficult to be totally accurate.

I use as many recyclable materials as possible to protect your purchase(s). I ask that you please recycle and reuse as many of these items as possible.
Refunds and Exchanges
If your purchase is damaged upon delivery, please contact me within 7 (seven) days and provide photos of the damaged item including packaging so that I may contact the carrier and file a claim. I cannot issue a refund or provide a replacement if there is no documentation.

I strive for total customer satisfaction; I want you to love your pottery. If for some reason you are unhappy with your purchase, please notify me within 3 days of receipt. I will provide whatever assistance I can to resolve any issues you may have. Refunds may be issued provided the item is returned undamaged (at buyers expense via Priority Mail).

Returns & exchanges
I gladly accept returns, exchanges, and cancellations

Contact me within: 7 days of delivery
Ship items back to me within: 14 days of delivery
** Request a cancellation within: 2 hours of purchase **
Additional policies and FAQs
I do on occasion accept custom orders. Payment is required when placing your order. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Please keep in mind that every piece of pottery is unique and no 2 pieces are ever alike. I may try to replicate a piece as closely as possible to a photo, but it is impossible to make 2 items exactly the same. Slight variations in shape and / or color are not flaws or imperfections - they are what make your pottery unique and one- of- a- kind, and therefore, not returnable.
