About

A Blessing in Disguise.

I started making jewellery by accident. In 2005 I lost an earring that was very dear to me and decided to try to recreate it. It did NOT turn out very well, but it sparked an interest in jewellery making that has since evolved into something much more.

The thing about being self-taught is that you don't follow guidelines and tend to take more risks. The result is a more creative and less conventional product. I don't follow rules and I don't limit myself. There is no one to tell me I can't do something because I am the boss and I love that.

Over the last 7 1/2 years my jewellery has changed dramatically. Having access to a huge variety of supplies on Etsy and other online venues has made this change possible. I have also merged my love of painting and jewellery design to create hand painted items. The use of paint and antiquing mediums has added endless possibilities that are truly exciting. I look forward to a constant evolution of myself and my business, and I am proud to share my creations with you.

Payment
Please note that I only accept Paypal payments for the time being. Paypal is a fast, safe, and efficient way to pay. You can use your Paypal account to send an echeck or an instant money transfer from your bank account. You can also pay with your credit card even if you do not have a Paypal account. By using Paypal you are assured that no one but Paypal ever sees your credit card information.
Shipping
I ship worldwide. Items ship from Canada.

I am a busy mom as well as a business owner, but I do my very best to ship orders out between 1-3 business days after completed transaction. Custom items and made to order items will take longer to ship as they need to be made first(usually 5-7 business days).

Once an order has been shipped, it is the responsibility of Canada Post, the USPS, and other mail carriers to ensure that you receive your parcel in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, I have no control over the postal system. I can only hope that each parcel is handled with care and respect by each postal employee that comes in contact with it.

Jewellery items are shipped out without insurance to keep shipping fees low for you. If you would like to pay for insurance and/or tracking for your order please contact me.

Customs
________

Keep in mind that occasionally customs can put a hold on shipments which can slow down delivery time. Any actions taken by customs is unfortunately beyond my control.

All duty fees are the responsibility of the buyer. As an online buyer myself, I have never had to pay duty fees, and neither have my customers. Duty fees are often the result of random customs inspections where the recipient is charged duty fees in the form of a "handling fee" or "brokerage fee".
Refunds and Exchanges
I value my customers very much and want them to be entirely happy with their purchase. I post descriptions and photos that are as accurate a depiction of what the item looks like in person. If you are not satisfied please contact me before leaving your feedback so that we may find the best solution possible.

In the event that you wish to return an item for a full refund(minus shipping fees), it must be sent back in its original condition. If you want a refund please contact me within 10 days of receipt of the item. Refund will be given as money back once the item has been received and inspected. Shipping and handling expenses to return the item will be at the buyer's expense.

Damages
________

If your package arrives and the merchandise is damaged, please document carefully, with date, time and a digital photo of how it was received, and I will work to replace your item. Please contact me immediately so that we may resolve the situation without delay.

Lost parcel
_________

Orders that are shipped without insurance and are lost in transit may be replaced or refunded, but that decision is at my discretion. If a refund occurs, shipping charges will not be refunded.
Additional policies and FAQs
*** WARNING ***

Swarovski crystals contain lead. That is what gives them that stunning shimmer. Though Swarovski crystals are perfectly safe to wear if you are a teenager or an adult, you may not want very young children wearing them. That decision is yours to make. I would only highly recommend that you keep all your Swarovski jewellery away from babies and toddlers so that they do not ingest them. Although Swarovski crystals are not supposed to leach any of the lead even if ingested, I would still not take a chance.

FAQ's on jewellery materials
----------------------------

What is gold-filled?

We all know that gold is not inexpensive. 14 karat gold fill is the affordable solution. By law, it has 1/20th by weight layer of 14 karat gold permanently bonded over a core of base metal. It has far more gold than the few microns coating of gold in gold plate, a hundred or more times the amount of gold, actually. Under normal wear with reasonable care that you would give any precious metal jewelry, 14K Gold-Fill jewelry will not peel, flake, or ware off and can be treasured as heirloom pieces. It is tarnish-resistant like solid 14 karat gold and is safe for most people with sensitive skin who can wear solid 14 karat gold jewelry. Caring for 14 Karat Gold Filled jewelry is as easy as caring for other precious metal jewelry, too. So all in all, 14K gold filled jewelry is a long lasting, economical way to enjoy the luster of gold without the big price tag.
