...strange, I know... but here is the truth:

As I was shopping for a piece of wood to replace the broken piece my mail box once sat on, I had 6.5 feet of wood left over. The associate at Home Depot asked me what I wanted to do with it. I looked at him & said "I don't know what am I going to do with a 6.5 ft piece of wood"? The gentleman suggested cutting the remaining feet down to the same length (in case I need to replace the mailbox again, ha!). After a short bit of thinking I decided sure why not, I can be crafty at times & would figure out something to do with it. As he was cutting the wood down to the same size I remembered that I wanted to try a project that I had seen & this would be the perfect opportunity to try it.

One weekend while my boyfriend was out of town I quickly, and yet incompletely, painted up one of the extra pieces of wood. After a few hours of nailing & stringing, my first sign complete! Of course I had to show all of my co-workers my latest project & they were amazed! My boyfriend also thought is was so awesome & unique he wanted me to make one for both his Father & Brother, each saying Gomel in Russian characters, because that is where they are originally from.

A few weeks passed & my boss remembered my first sign & asked if I could bring it in. After showing her, she asked if I would make one for a baby shower she was co-hosting. I agreed and later found out it was a hit!

A few days & weeks passed & my boss approached me once again, asking if I would like to make some signs so she could sell them in her store, I excitedly agreed and decided to make a business of it.
