Hello! I'm Joelle. I'm an artist, a creator and a curator! I've been on Etsy since I was 16 when I opened my first Etsy shop (etsy.com/shop/joelleabelle) to sell my handmade jewellery. This current shop was initially opened to sell my extra charms, but over time it has evolved into a collection of recycled silver jewellery, art prints, and other items I love to make. The evolution of Neap Tides wasn't planned, but I'm really thrilled with the direction it's taking!

I'm a firm believer that creativity is passed down in a family; my grandmother was an avid painter and artist, my mother followed in her footsteps and she encouraged me to pursue my creative dreams too. I have been shooting and retouching photographic images since the age of 12 when my passion for photography emerged. My images have been featured in Digital SLR Magazine (among others!) and I have won awards for some of my short films.

In addition to photography, my other speciality is illustration, but I'll try almost any other kind of art or craft that I can get my hands on! I recently completed an Art Foundation and this massively broadened my creative horizons. I got into printmaking during that time. Recently, I have fallen head over heels in love with ceramics and silversmithing (I travelled all the way to India to do a silversmithing course!)

When I’m not shooting, drawing or otherwise creating, I spend my time playing the guitar, writing, sewing and working on my online shops.

I am fortunate to live in the beautiful seaside town of Falmouth in Cornwall. The nature all around me is so inspiring, I can't even...! I'm also inspired by the new experiences that come when I travel, I can't get enough of it! Above all else though, I'm inspired by art and creating! I absolutely love what I do; I live and breathe to create.

I am completely and utterly beyond grateful for the support of my Etsy customers who have enabled me to achieve my dream of being a working artist and making a living through my Etsy shop at the age of 21! I have so much fun designing new things and tinkering with my shop. Thank you for allowing me to do what I love everyday!
