Love this bag and it is my second one from JohnMetBetty. I love knowing that it was handmade and is also vegan. Great quality and bonus is it arrived in a beautiful package! When I bought my first bag the seller also worked with me on a couple of modifications and it was greatly appreciated. Love this brand and product!

I saw that this was the last bag in inventory and had to have it! I love that it lays flat against my body and doesn’t swing around like some bags tend to do. There’s good pocket space and I can even fit my iPad and books in it. Very sturdy and cute craftsmanship! I’m looking forward to all the compliments I’m sure to receive! I fell in love with this clutch at first sight. I tend to not buy expensive purses. The clutch this is replacing was "free" with a purchase at a major chain a few years back. HOWEVER, my fab new clutch is worth every penny... and then some. Not only is it made by an incredibly talented woman right here in the United States which, c'mon, is already cool, but it also happens to be eco-friendly, vegan and pvc free (ok, I didn't know that part at first BUT it is an added bonus). The quality is utterly superb. Customer service is excellent. Go on, treat yourself whilst supporting a small (for now) business!

About The Designer:

Jillian Darnell has been designing one of a kind vegan leather bags, totes and clutches for over 10 years. Originally from Toronto Canada, she studied fine arts at The University of Waterloo and Fashion Design at George Brown College in Toronto. Her interest in design and leatherwork began while working in the leather industry in Acton Ontario. Jillian now resides on Bainbridge Island in Washington State with her husband, two boxers and two cats. All handbags are created with eco-friendly faux leathers and new and vintage fabrics from start to finish by Jillian in her home studio.

About The Name:

John Met Who? A question we get often! John Met Betty is named after my grandparents John & Betty Thompson, they shared a flair for style, a storybook romance and love for the PNW. My grandparents met and married in Vancouver BC and had their first date riding bikes in Stanley Park. Growing up in Ontario, Canada, I often heard stories about the west coast, and would flip through the picture books lining my grandparents coffee tables and bookshelves. I feel it was serendipitous that my husband and I ended up moving here 10 years ago. With my family history in the PNW and a love equal to what my grandparents had for this magical place, I felt it was fitting to name my company after them.
