This wonderful pendant brought my friend Anne happiness. She has been making origami peace cranes for the past few weeks. She displays them at our craft centre priced at 50 pence each. The money thus raised goes to a charity called Water Aid. The deep magenta with silver and gold stripes looks very attractive.

Very cute little brooch, I got this for a christmas gift and received it quick, and i am sure it will be liked! (although I'd have make it a bit more "flat" so it doesn't grip with stuff and things but i'm sure it'll be alright!)

Beautiful earrings. Arrived quickly. Now I just need to decide which pair is for me and which to give to my twin sister. Thank you!

What to do with 5,000 Cranes?

It started with a solitary crane, folded while bored at work from a scrap piece of paper in my pocket. It was followed by another folded while fidgety in class, they were brought home and given to Rhain who lovingly said "Thank you" and placed them on an empty shelf.

Paper was bought in pretty colours, more classes were attended and work was still long and boring. Some how the empty shelf shrank until a full shelf of 5,000 cranes and six months later when the statement "NO MORE PAPER CRANES UNLESS YOU FIND SOMETHING TO DO WITH THEM!" was expressed not so lovingly by Rhain.

So on 29th of December 2009 when I was desperate to start folding cranes again Joji Creations was born. Funny thing is work isn't so boring and I'm no longer studying, so I really don't fold many cranes any more, but Rhain sure does!

Joji Creations is run by a couple (Joji & Rhain) in Victoria, Australia. It grew from the plethora of origami that had started to envelop our small town house as simple non-lacquered crane earrings from whatever paper could be found, to now having a large range of assorted origami jewellery and homewares. We import Handmade Japanese Paper (Yuzen, Chiyogami and others) in large sheets and hand cut, trim, fold, attach to findings, treat, lacquered/resin, package and everything else all of our products ourselves.

We firmly believe that handmade means designed and made by you, not by others. We also believe that if it's worth making, you make it properly, which is why all of our products have been made to last more than "just a season".

We get our inspiration from the beautiful colours and shapes that surround us in the Australian bush as well as the eclectic mix of bush paintings, old suitcases, graffiti art and antique wood that we choose to fill our house with. Our love is creating new models and designs to shape into jewellery as well as being able to do what we love to help financially support ourselves.

Just a note as we import all our paper we have a large range of colours only some of which are represented in our online shop. We do have over 300 colours available so if there is a colour you cannot find, please message us!

Other mediums that Joji Creations work in can be found via our other Etsy stores JojiReCreations, FooleryLane, and LeadlightByEttore.
