Fantastic and exactly what I was looking for. I have received several compliments already and have told those who inquired about this artist/designer. Jo's work is beautiful and well thought out. The workmanship is top-notch. Check out her designs...you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful! I ordered the Not So Crazy Bitch pendant and wanted a pair of earrings to wear as well. Jo was very accommodating and designed these earrings to complement the pendant. Wonderful to work with and top-notch artist! You won't be disappointed if you order from her.

About

Pyro channels her love of fire into Jewelry & Art.

Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated with how things work. I would take apart or deconstruct toys, radios, old appliances and reassemble them, hardly ever finishing the same way they started.

And I was fascinated by fire. I got caught many times using the burners on the stove to melt plastic straws and drip them like sealing wax on books, letters and early art work. (I still have a scar on the back of my hand from where some hot melted straw dripped on me.)

Fast forward a few years, and I bought a real torch, and started melting some really cool things, like copper and silver and gold; although, every now and then, I still like to melt a straw and drip the hot smelly plastic on stuff.

I also started making art from the things I break or take apart. Breaking glass and assembling it into something beautiful, using watch parts or old countertops to fashion a piece of jewelry, there is no end to what materials can be used to create what you imagine. What starts out as an idea or vision soon becomes finessed into a three dimensional work of art, leaving a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment to replace the ethereal.

Though I am inspired by the real world, I consider what I make conceptual. I am inspired by shapes and colors rather than whole objects, the hard angular lines of a building, the soft curves of the human form, the repetitious pattern of a field of flowers or the flowing tentacles of a jelly fish will all evoke ideas for a new piece.

I love to melt things with my torch. I love to melt glass in my kiln. I love to soldering things together. I love to bend and shape glass in molds. I love it all! I hope you enjoy the results of my love of fire.
