Hi , I'm Jools, a Contemporary artist working in my loft studio in Worcester, with my 2 dogs Betty and Henry for company.

I've been drawing and painting my quirky black and white figures composititions for quite a few years now. What started out as serene, single figure pastel drawings have evolved over the years into these unique and quirky characters that have become my signature calligraphic style. Hand drawn in black ink or painted in black acrylic on white backgrounds, my distinctive stylised works owe their inspiration to the elongated figurines of Giacometti that I saw on my first ever visit to the Tate gallery as a teenager! Combine those with the sculptural work of Henry Moore and transfer them into two dimensional sketches and that’s what emerges as my work.

The arrival of ‘Stan&Ann’ and their friends has brought me to the opening my Etsy shop. They are two specific characters I’ve created and plan to share their pictorial adventures with you.

Alongside Stan&Ann I have a range of hand drawn pop culture pieces such as Harry Potter, Doctor Who and Star Wars and then there are the imaginative compositions ranging from folk bands, jazz bands and rock bands to golfers, surfers and horse riders. You request it, I'll do my best to create it!
