Hey, welcome to my shop! Relax, take a look around and enjoy seeing what I like to think is pottery unlike any other. Making whimsical handmade pottery has become my life's work, and I hope owners of a piece of Joyce Pottery will smile each time they use their unique handmade piece. From animal pieces to character pieces, to my Celtic pottery for lovers of all things Irish☘️, my whimsical pottery will delight!
I consider my pottery light hearted, although some may call it whimsical, brilliantly colored, and no two pieces are ever exactly alike!
Still playing with clay! JOYCE

This was a gift, the recipient loves it. Adding her name to personalize it was a real plus.

About

Pottery that elicits a Smile!

A few years back, I changed my career role from part time pottery lady and full time architectural designer, to full time builder of clay. I used to build buildings, now I build pottery.
Some of my pottery is just for fun, but most of it is functional. So you might be looking for a vase to hold flowers, but with my work you might find a vase that is also a lady figurine, or a bowl that is also an elephant.
One of the things I enjoy most is watching people at art shows walk by my booth....upon first sight, a big smile appears, as they then comment that this is not your ordinary pottery! I use bright colors and I hand carve or hand stamp my pottery with lots of details.....this reflects back on my detailed days of drawing blueprints for buildings, I think!
I also have created most of the stamps I use for the patterns on my work, so no other potter has my designs.
I especially love woodland and pond creatures and often include wildlife or trees in many of my designs. You will often see depictions of the 4 seasons in my work as the large windows in the pottery shed let me watch my Midwest environment change each day before my eyes.
So......let me invite you to take a close look and see if a piece of pottery will make you smile and as always.....Enjoy!
Still playing with clay! JOYCE
