I could not be happier with this dress! The only one I found the even came close to replication. Was willing to make custom item for a more than fair price. The fit, length, and material were perfect. The item was shipped in secure packaging with great care. Shipped fast and was received before the date needed. Consistent communication from seller and customer satisfaction was of great concern. Would buy from again in hot minute. :)
How do we do it?
Our shop got started because both Sara and James get bored and both enjoy working with their hands. This resulted in Sara making large wooden art pieces to go in her home and her counseling office. She began getting so many compliments on them that she decided maybe she might try selling them. James was ready to jump on board as he has always enjoyed working for himself and very much enjoyed the things that Sara was creating. Together they have worked out a method that allows them to connect and communicate in a way that is fun and creatively expressive.
Both Sara and James are always on the lookout for new materials. since we use mostly wood found that would be wasted otherwise there is usually a lot of character in the basic surface. sometimes this is paint that is then sanded in, or dents/markings. All of these little things just improve the individuality of each piece made.
Sara then Measures out what size of "canvas" she would like and James gets to cutting. He cuts and then sands and stains each piece.
Sara will then brainstorm what would look good based on the size/shape and shade of stain that James has come up with.
A drawing is then made on a piece of contact paper cut to the size of the piece, sometimes this is based on a basic shape (like a feather) and sometimes this is all freehand. After this the detail design is then drawn as well to add dimension. The contact paper is stuck to the wood and the drawing is cut out with an exact-o knife, the design that is meant to let the wood show through is left and the remaining contact paper is pealed off. Paint is then applied to the piece of wood and allowed to dry. when the pain is dry the pieces of contact paper left are then pealed off and the design remains.
