Announcement   Welcome to Joy in the Small Things - Folk Art Banners & Photography!

My latest venture involves selling the pictures I have been taking on Instagram. After I was asked nine times if I sold my pictures I decided to add them to the shop! These photos were taken by me on my iPhone6s. I use ColorServices Photo Lab in Santa Barbara and all orders will be processed and shipped through them. I have used this lab for almost two decades and I am honored that the owners, Glen and Gabe, are willing to work with me to get my Etsy products into your hands.

Join me on Instagram at joyinthesmallthings to see where I have found beauty.

Every fabric banner is designed, cut, sewn and packaged by me!
At this time I am only making two types of banners. The love banner and the eucharisteo banner that I made for Ann Voskamp (see pictures for details). Both banners are custom orders and can look similar to but not exactly like the ones pictured as all banners are one of a kind!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

About

Joy in the Small Things

I started making banners as a way to thank those in my community and church who had stood by my side during my diagnosis of Crohn's disease and resulting transition out of the classroom as I was unable to teach. With each banner a name would come into my head and I would also be given the "word" for that person or family. I loved creating these special banners. Within months I had made 88 banners and my husband, Rich, and my good friend, Krista wondered if I had considered selling on Etsy. I am so thankful to be here and hope you find something you want for your home or that of a friend. I love using unique and meaningful materials to accompany the message in each banner. No two banners are alike!
