Announcement   Hello and Welcome
I appreciate you taking the time to look at my shop. My name is Joy Smith and I was born and raised in Wexford, Ireland. I moved to England in 1960 and there I met my husband. We came to the United States in 1968 and lived in Seattle for 33 years before retiring to Indio, CA.
I have always loved jewelry and now I like making it. My big thing right now is leather and I am also working on some unisex designs in bracelets. I like using copper, pearls and natural stones in my creations and chains come into my designs as well. I have designed a large selection of pendants in the form of maps, stamps and sports symbols and these appear in my necklaces. I have a large selection to choose from. All of my items are handmade by myself with love and great care.
So, why don't you stop by my shop often to keep up with the ever changing scene.

Pretty piece. Fast shipping. $35 was somewhat high for the pendant, though.

Several months ago I found a St. Bridgit's cross brooch on Etsy, made in 1965 in Dublin out of Connemara marble. It's to be a birthday gift for our younger daughter, who is a Music Minister for St. Bridgit's of Kildare Parish. Knowing how good she has been to St Bridgit, I'm sure St.Bridgit will be just as good to her. I know she'll love both pieces. My husband is from Glasgow (grandfather from County Clare) so the thistle has extra special meaning. Good photo color and description; timely delivery.

About

I make jewelry because I love being a creator of beautiful things.

I sold jewelry by word of mouth for many years and started Joytoyou41 on Etsy in October of 2010. I have from early childhood been interested in arts and crafts and, over the years, I have ventured into many different craft forms. There was candle making, decopage, scrapbooking, greeting cards,.....the list goes on. But jewelry was different. I seemed to be able to be more creative and ventured into many different design ideas and different materials.
The name "Joytoyou" comes from when I first started making jewelry. The addition of the "41" is another story!
I found it was possible to order the basic materials from various parts of the world, glass from Italy, leather from Portugal, beads from Greece, etc. This really influenced the design ideas that come to me. I am never happier than when sitting at my work table combining these materials and ideas into something of lasting beauty that will bring pleasure to someone.
I also found that, by selling to people all over the United States and the rest of the world, I have made many new friends and also renewed some previous acquaintances.
My husband, Tony, does all the computer work for me and also the shipping. Together, we make a pretty good team.
