JILL DUPRE' DESIGNS

New Orleans, Louisiana 13 Sales On Etsy since 2008

Announcement   Thanks for looking at my new designs. I am a trained graphic designer and I think that really comes out in my work with collages and pillows. I am mostly working with interior design clients these days and am inspired by my teenagers and the world of electronic connection.

My newer pillows here are word pillows made with words that I love or that I love to hear.

The most recent paintings I call Freehand Faces, They are drawn using one continuous line and then filled in and collaged. These portraits were drawn from faces of people I know or have just seen on the street, in the elevator or airport. Wherever. Interesting faces invariably leave a wonderful impression on me. For these I used the concept of portraits featuring the curious notion of love, how it is always around us and how it sometimes defines us.

The photos are of interesting street art or signs or just cool things I encounter in my travels near and far.

The stools are made from strips of fabric and slip covered.

The rice babies, or "no worry dolls" are made of lots of fabric samples, ribbons, buttons, thread and charms. They have rice in the bottom section which creates a nice heft to them and I believe when squeezed can help calm fears and be comforting to the owner. I make people and animals.

Lastly, there is a set of postcards here. I design these and have them printed on card stock. They come in 8 designs, 2 of each for a total of 16 cards. The backs are ready for a note and can be mailed with a postcard stamp.

Custom orders available on all the above. Enjoy.

About

I have a good eye.

I am thrilled to be doing all the things I love -- interior design, collages, handmade pillows and stools, doll making with my daughter, renovator, runner, wanderer, volunteer and all the other stuff that I find myself doing. Every job gives me joy and I feel so lucky to step into my shoes each day. And to have my family and friends to share my life with. Balance is what I strive for.

But chocolate wins out every time.
