The shop is closed for now as I am getting ready for hip replacement surgery. I will be back in a couple of months.

I am a glass bead maker and a jewelry designer. I have expanded my bead making to include Torch Fired Enamel Beads. I start with a metal bead I purchase, I heat it in my torch, dip in powdered glass (enamel), put back in the flame to melt the glass, and repeat about 2-3 times. The end result produces a bead or component with a "rustic" look that will enhance your jewelry designs.

At the age of 50 I let go of working in an office and being pratical minded and discovered my artistic side that was waiting to be explored.

When I started making glass beads I couldn't stop! I love sitting behind the torch, melting glass and creating colorful beads. I totally get into the zone. So relaxing and calming. I think about what I want to do with each bead.

I am also a class and tool junkie which is how this story got started. I wanted to take another glass workshop. So I took my box of beads and went to bead stores. I made enough for the workshop and that is how it started. When you make beads you can only make so much jewelry ..... this allows me to take more workshops, buy more tools and even treat my husband to a vacation once in awhile!

When you make glass beads you have so many beads you have to make jewelry too! While I am making beads I am thinking about how I would use the beads in a jewelry design.
