... that’s the way my needle travels, connecting tiny beads together, one at a time. Like a child plays with sand, I have been playing around with seed beads for years as a way to pass time, until I was asked to create jewelry for others and now beads have earned a permanent place in my life.

I am obsessed with tiny seed beads! Before I was able to put them together into something wearable, I would carry them around in a small vial – they just seemed so perfect to me. Now I spend many fulfilling hours weaving these teeny-weeny bits into one wearable piece. As I create, I am continuously aware of how the constraints of our time play against the unlimited possibilities of beads. I try to capture as many of these as I can. This William Blake’s verse reflects how I think about beadwork: “To see the world in a grain of sand and to see heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palms of your hands and eternity in an hour.”

While I create for my own enjoyment, I am deeply honored when others appreciate my work and want to wear it.
