About

A place to discover things with a past

JTBaldwin began with a simple cake pedestal design made from castoffs salvaged from my husband’s vintage audio business. Today, I have a small studio where I’ve developed an eclectic collection that includes an Audio Buffet Line of serveware, as well as a number of products that range from wall hooks made from headphones to tables made from tricycles, drums, and just about whatever speaks to me. Each piece is one-of-a-kind. Each piece is made from authentic vintage items. Each piece is designed as functional art for today's home. The intent of my designs is to connect past and present by uncovering an item with strong lines and just the right amount of wear to verify a history.

It’s truly an organic process that has no preconceived parameters. At the onset of a project I have a vision of the final form, but the details and the exact composition of materials evolve over time. It’s like a jigsaw puzzle. In some instances, I may audition dozens and dozens of combinations until I find one that pleases me and that respects the original structure and integrity. When you’re dealing with salvage, you don’t have the luxury of subcontracting fabrication to your exact measurements. You have to go out and find the fit. It’s just part of the process.

And in the end, it’s about the story, the journey that each piece takes from the manufacturer to the original owner, through my studio and into your home. It’s a piece that played a part in people’s lives. I will always share any information I have gathered. However, in many instances, we can only imagine the road to the present.

If you can find something that speaks to you, that sparks a memory or provokes conversation, that makes you think, recall or wonder, then I have met my goals.

I am very proud that JTBaldwin was included on Apartment Therapy's Best of 2012 List.

Thank you so much for your interest. Every single sale is important to me and I will do my best to pack and mail your purchase to you so that it is received in the condition described. Please remember, however, that I deal with repurposed items and that there may be signs of use. I urge you to ask questions and I will do my best to answer ASAP.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
Payment
Payment through PAYPAL must be paid immediately. And remember that PAYPAL does accept several major credit cards.
Shipping
Your item(s) will be shipped -- via the carrier noted in the product description -- within three (3) business days after payment clears.

Insurance is included on all shipments (unless otherwise stated) and great care is taken when packaging your item, including double boxing when necessary.

PayPal now requires a "Signature Required" for packages valued at $200.00 or more.

FOR CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE THE U.S.:

If you see an item in my shop that doesn't have shipping to your country, please contact me and I give you a shipping price and add it to the listing.

Be aware that your own country's customs service may impose a range of import fees, taxes, tariffs, duties at the time of delivery. Any and all customs or duty fees are the responsibility of the buyer. These are not in my control and I have no way of knowing when or if they will be imposed or how much they might be. For information you should contact your local customs agency.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please notify us immediately if there is any problem with your order. Customer satisfaction is very important to us and we will work with you to resolve any issue.

Returns are accepted if postmarked within 7 days from receipt -- but please convo me first. Buyer will be required to pay return shipping.

If the item has been damaged in shipping, let us know within 24 hours of receipt and we will provide you with directions for return. All of the carriers we use (primarily USPS and UPS) have very specific rules that must be followed in order to be reimbursed for damaged tiems. All packing materials should be saved as documentation.
Additional policies and FAQs
As a company which both buys and sells on the internet, we know first hand how important it is to trust the people with whom you are doing business. And although JTBALDWIN is fairly new in the market, we want you to know that we have been selling vintage items on Ebay since 2002 and are proud to have earned the distinction of ‘Top Rated Seller’ for our customer service. Of course, not every buyer goes to the trouble of rating a seller and supplying feedback, but those who did consistently tell us that they appreciate our attention to detail and accurate descriptions, care in packing, and honesty — and we strive to continue that level of service on Etsy.

We make every attempt to treat our customers with courtesy and respect and we take great care in providing a quality product.
