Updates

Newest lampwork beads sparkling in the sun. A set of 8 beads in shades of teal glass wrapped in metallic threads just listed.
Perfect colours for Spring jewellery. Pink, ivory and soft green lampwork glass beads in a pebble shape. This shape is lovely for bracelets because it lies flat against the wrist making it really comfortable to wear.
To etch to a matte finish or leave glossy? that’s today’s question. I will probably compromise and do half and half as I love them both ways.

About

It's all about the beads!

I became smitten with beads back in 1997 after wandering into the bead shop in London's Covent Garden. Lured by the colours and sparkle I was mesmerised and began a love affair that continues to this day. I collected, admired, made jewelry, wove seed bead amulets and generally played with my ever growing collection of pretties for a few years, I even sold some of my beaded jewelry to friends and family.

Then in 2002 I came across handmade artisan lampwork beads that were so different from the generic lampwork I was familiar with from the bead shops. I was fascinated, I needed to do this. It took me a while, searching and researching. Lampworking had kept it's secrets for generations on Murano, Italy and it was early days for the internet as well as beadmaking.

My tenacity paid off though and I found not only a teacher in the UK but a whole society dedicated to lampworking, GBUK - Glass Beadmakers UK. I booked my first class and I was in heaven, it was way too much fun! I have taken many classes in beadmaking and jewelry and spent thousands of hours practising at the torch since then but the initial spark is still burning brightly and I'm still having too much fun.

I love making lampwork beads by melting glass in a torch flame, layering colour, sparkle & shine. I also make jewellery with my lampwork beads and sterling silver. I have been making lampwork beads since 2002.

Photographs

Please check the measurements carefully before ordering. Photographs show pieces magnified and bigger than their actual size, which can make it hard to determine their size.
It also magnifies the smallest details which, in real life, may not be as obvious to the naked eye.
I do my best to photograph true to life colours but monitors vary please allow for some variation between what you see on your screen and what you see in real life.
