I just formed these. Although they are not snowflakes, the process is the same. Roll out a thin slab of clay, cut out the shape, stamp it, decorate it, fire it, glaze it, fire it again, add gold lustre, fire it again, and voila, a Christmas ornament!
I just finished painting the underglaze to make these rainbow trout for this batch of trout mugs.

Trout Mugs in the making. I threw the mugs, sculpted the trout, added them to the body of the mugs. Now I am pulling the handles off of the mugs and adding thumb rests. The trout will get painted as soon as the mugs dry.

About

High quality, stoneware, functional pottery made for you!

I have been making pottery since 1972. The first touch of clay on the wheel and I was hooked! Making simple, functional, stoneware pottery has been my goal all along.

Making high quality stoneware pottery is so satisfying. The excitement of opening the kiln to see my latest creations is as strong today as it was 40 years ago.

I realty enjoy trying new and different techniques. Come back and see my latest creations soon.

Thanks for visiting my Etsy Shop. I hope you enjoy looking at my stoneware pottery. Each item is handmade, by me and is a small work of art. Multiples of pieces are not exactly the same because they are made individually, by hand.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

I do make custom and personalized orders. I need time to make sure your pottery is what you want. A 30 day time period is necessary to make and fire your customized order.

Care instructions

All of my pottery is dish washer safe and microwave safe. It can be used in the oven, but can not withstand direct flame either on the stove or under the broiler.

Sizing details

I try to include the size of the pieces by measuring each one when I list it. I also try to determine how much liquid a vessel holds. If you have questions, please contact me.
