Announcement
This is my retail site for handmade paper and jewelry created by myself, Julia Bray Garretson, from recycled material! Come in person and see my vast selection of one-of-a-kind inventory.
I explain and regret that I will probably never be a star seller on etsy. This is because I like my local postal people and I want them to stay in business so I will still be going into town twice a week to speak with them in person, and because I run a farm as well as being an artist and my timing for responses to your convos is not always within 24 hours. I ship on time for the times that are quoted, and I hope that you will still enjoy my products.
I ship using recycled materials, again that I use from the waste stream of our culture.
For wholesale orders please contact me by convo for further information. Please remember that I can make all items in all colors. I use many recycled materials in my work and, I hope you are inspired.
If you would like to join my email newsletter list where I showcase new products, relate which area I will be selling at, and advertise classes, please click the blog link to join.
Enjoy my shop,
Julia G.

5 out of 5 starsI bought this paper for a friend as a present. Love the explanation of what was used to make each sheet. It is very beautiful and I know she will love it.

5 out of 5 starsOh my… I gasped looking at each of these papers when I first opened my package. Each is so different, and the work and care that went into making them is amazing. I love the different textures and colors. I took a paper-making workshop recently, and I have so much reverence for how much work (and fun) goes into this. Magnifico!

5 out of 5 starsReceived the frog light switch today, and couldn't be happier! It's so darn cute, and the fact that it's from recyclables makes it even better! It looks great in my frog-themed bathroom! Thank you so much!

Upcycled Materials!
I have always made things with my hands from the materials that were available to me. This shop shows a selection of some of the items currently available for sale to the public.
I make handmade paper from materials reclaimed from the waste stream. I use junk mail, cotton T-shirts, blue jeans, egg cartons, onion skins, corn husks, coffee cup holders, and much more. I beat these fibers in water until a fluffy pulp is formed. Then I add the pulp to more water in a vat and I stir to agitate the fibers. I pick the fibers up by dipping a mould and deckle into the vat and lifting up a thin layer of fibers that catch on the screen while the water falls through. I make a stack of wet paper and press it under a car, then let the papers dry.
Voila! A New unique sheet of paper is born!
I have been making paper for 15 years, my paper can go through a printer and photocopier. You can also write, draw, paint, sew, cut, glue, sculpt, fold, tear, and collage with it. I do not use any dyes for my fibers, all of the colors are already in the material previously used from the waste stream. Please let me know if you have a special project and I will make a batch of paper just for you!
I ship using recycled materials. For wholesale accounts please contact me personally for my line sheets and website for photos of my items.

Frequently asked questions
Can the paper go though a printer?
Yes! My handmade paper can go through a printer and photocopiers. It can also be written on with pen, pencil, marker, crayon, colored pencil, and paint. It can also be glued, cut stapled, stuck, taped, torn, and sculpted.
Sizing details
My paper is sold in many sizes in packets, or groups of ten sheets. Please double check the size of the listing, and specify if you need a custom size. I can always double check the size for your project and create what you need.
Gift wrapping and packaging
I package my products in reused packaging in order to limit how much material goes into the waste stream. Please keep in mind that this does not always look like gift packaging. If presentation is important let me know!
Custom and personalized orders
I make custom paper. Please convo me about specialty sizes, colors, larger orders, shaped paper, watermarks, or specific invitations. I make the paper to order in what ever size you would like, even including materials from your life.
Wholesale availability
I sell the paper, jewelry, and Light switch plates wholesale. Let me know if you would like to see my line sheet for ordering. Please include your shop name and location. I have a minimum order of only $200 and I offer net 30 after your first order.
