Updates

So excited to introduce the STRATA line of cups, plates and decorative bowls. Each unique pattern is created from the clay itself. A sleek, modern take on an earthly formation.

About

Fresh, Down-to-Earth Design

Julia Paul Pottery is influenced by the local landscape, which is filled with fields and forest. Since opening her pottery studio in 2011, artist and potter Julia Paul has been designing and making quality tableware and ceramic art pieces with an emphasis on natural forms and modern design. This produces fresh, clean designs that are adaptable to many home and decor styles.

All designs and artwork are original and deeply rooted in her personal aesthetics and experiences, aiming to provide beautiful design with a soul. The studio follows eco-conscious, sustainable practices, always seeking to bridge a connection between beautiful and smart. All tableware is wheel thrown and made with lead free glazes and fired in an electric kiln to cone 5/6, which is over 2160°F. Did you know the surface of the sun is about 9900°F?

Photo note cards feature original Polaroid photography of the forest of Virginia printed on fine, silky matte paper. They are an elegant way to keep in touch.

Shop policies

I currently live and work as an artist in the mountains of Virginia making wheel-thrown stoneware pottery. Each piece is one-of-kind and distinguished by unique characteristics such as variations in size and color due to the handmade process. All glazes are lead free.

CARE: Tableware is dishwasher safe, however, hand washing is recommended. Please do not put handmade pottery in the microwave. Use your handmade pottery with care, but use it every day! More about my work at juliapaulpottery.com
