Julie was wonderful to work with and her invitations were even better than expected. She went out of her way to ship to us. Great designer

Love the design. Card quality excellent. This made the perfect valentine for a friend with whom I have a running lobster joke.

About Julie Knapp

I grew up on a peninsula of land in Maine, jetting out into Casco Bay - Atlantic Ocean. A trip to town was more then ten miles, one way, along a hilly, winding, narrow, ledge-crowned road. It’s a “One Road In” sort of place. My playgrounds were the fields, woods and shore land wrapping around the finger of ledgy land jetting into the Atlantic. The smell of the salt water, the sound of the ocean, gulls and boat traffic, the fog horn blowing and the clanking bell buoy permeate my soul. As a seasick prone member of a nautical family, I practice the family trade of lobstering with my legs planted firmly on shore in my art workshop.

I like bold shapes and bright colors, natural subjects, botanicals, lobsters, mortal moments, silly sayings and humor. Watercolor and chalk painting are my primary pleasures but I have been known to work in, acrylic, oil, pastel, photography, collage, digital graphics, ceramics, wood block printing, mixed media and jewelry. When I'm not creating, I can be found chasing trains and building models with my young son.

I offer custom chalk and watercolor art paintings. If you have a subject like your favorite pet, your home, a portrait, contact me for a custom art work.
