I am very happy with the quality craftsmanship on this ring. The detail work is beautiful and it fit perfectly. This is the 5th piece from Julie's collection that I own and every piece is a product of perfection.

Julie was quick and responsive. I asked for a custom order a couple of weeks before Christmas and she came through. The earrings were a big hit!

These earrings are beautiful! She made them for me with ivory pearls so I can wear them for my wedding, and they are gorgeous. Well worth the price- high quality and incredible design. They also got to me in just a few days which was great.

Metal jewelry fabrication: I like to play with fire

Using precious metals, I create hand-forged metal and gemstone jewelry. I like clean, simple lines for a refined, luxe aesthetic that you can treasure for years, or pass down through the generations.

I create my pieces in my Portland, OR studio.

I draw inspiration from nature: the roundness of the moon and the texture of its craters, the great heights of the redwoods and the delicate nature of grass, the brightness of a summer sky and the waves of the ocean.

Welcome and thank you for stopping by my page!

When people ask me to describe my jewelry design style, I tell them that I like clean, simple lines as it gives my work an elegant and timeless appeal. I hand-forge the metal and sometimes use semi-precious gemstones and pearls.

I use mostly recycled Sterling Silver, but I also use 14 karat Gold-filled wire, which is described as, "a layer of 10 karat or better gold mechanically bonded under heat and pressure to another metal. It is then rolled or drawn to a given thickness. The quantity of the gold must be at least 1/20th of the item's total weight. The item must be marked as 10, 12 or 14kt gold-filled. Gold-filled is much thicker than gold plated, and gold-filled items are generally considered lifetime products."

Remove jewelry before: swimming, sleeping, using chemicals (e.g. cleaning the house/dishes/laundry), applying beauty products, bathing, engaging in vigorous activity (e.g. gardening/exercising), etc.

Metal will tarnish more quickly in humid environments, and the salty ocean air will also speed up tarnishing.

Polished jewelry -
As you probably know, metal will oxide and darken with a patina over time. Personally, I clean my own metal jewelry about 3 or 4 times a year. You can use commercial cleaning liquids/pastes. You can also use warm water and an unscented, gentle, clear dish soap with a soft toothbrush as needed. If you use a cream cleanser, be sure it does not get on any ornamentation (e.g. pearls, stones). Dry jewelry before storage.

Oxidized & Brushed jewelry -
The patina from oxidized pieces may wear of over time. Do not use any type of chemical on oxidized Silver or a brushed (matte) surface as it can change the unique finish. Instead, I recommend gently rubbing the metal with a fine grade of Steel Wool (over a garbage can, as the wool will shed.) Do not rub the Steel Wool on any ornamentation (e.g. pearls, stones.)

All of my Copper & Brass pieces have been coated with a specialty wax which helps delay tarnishing. Copper that comes in direct contact with your skin can sometimes turn your skin green.

Do you want me to clean your jewelry? Just send it back to me... I'll clean it at no charge to you; you'll just pay round-trip shipping costs. Same goes if you want your jewelry oxidized and/or brushed again.

I accept credit card payment via etsy and Paypal. If you want to purchase something but need the payments broken up into multiple billing cycles, let me know... I am happy to work with you. I will also accept personal checks by request; once the check clears, the item(s) will be shipped out.
To avoid shipping delays and extra costs, please be sure to verify your shipping address on file (e.g. Etsy and Paypal shipping address.) If the item you purchased is returned to me because you provided me with a wrong shipping address, you will need to provide me with your correct address and pay shipping costs again.

U.S. and Canada - Unless you request otherwise, and at time of purchase, I ship Priority Mail with tracking. Within the U.S., it usually takes 3 to 5 business days, and about 6 to 10 business days for Canada. Once shipped out, I will send you an e-mail with your tracking number.

Priority Express usually takes 3 to 5 business days, Priority International usually takes 6 to 10 business days, and I've had 1st Class International take up to 4 weeks. All of these timelines vary from country to country.

***** Please note that international buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred. To get an estimate on how much your country will charge you for Customs Fees, please visit http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation *****

USPS will ship items up to $400. If you are purchasing multiple pieces with a total over $400, I will get back to you with an updated shipping cost.

Due to varying Customs laws and inconsistencies with Package Tracking, not all items are available for International Shipping.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy with your purchase, but if you're not, I do accept returned items for refunds. If you want to return a piece, e-mail me within 7 days of receiving the order. The jewelry must be returned to me in the same condition it was sent to you, and in original packaging (i.e. ring box, gift wrap bag, etc.)

If the piece has been damaged, you will not qualify for a refund or exchange.

Custom Orders are completely non-refundable/non-returnable.

I ship USPS Priority for a reason... their boxes are sturdy, it includes tracking and the shipping is fast. You are responsible for the original and return/exchange postage prices. If you are shipping an item over $100, please use a trackable shipping service or purchase shipping insurance... if not, we don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

For refunds - Within 2 days of receiving the returned item, I will process the refund in the amount of the purchase price, minus costs of shipping and handling. If you did not include the original packaging, your refund will be minus those costs as well. Refunds can take up to two billing cycles to appear on your credit card.

For exchanges - If the new item is more expensive, you will need to pay the difference. If the new item is less money, I will refund you the difference. You are responsible for the original and exchange postage prices. Please also include original packaging.
Additional policies and FAQs
Do you see something that you'd like, but it's been marked "Sold"? Send me an e-mail with a link to the piece... depending on the materials, I might be able to make a new one for you.

MADE TO ORDER definition -
You have purchased a listing for a specific item that has already sold, and I will make a new one for you. All of my work is specially hand-crafted and therefore may have slight variations from the original photograph.

CUSTOM ORDERS definition -
You have requested a design variation on one of existing designs. Due to the amount of work and time spent on the piece made just for you, Custom Orders are non-refundable/non-returnable.

For important timeline details, please see notes about Refunds a few paragraphs above this one.

If I make a suggestion about sizing (e.g. ring size, type of ring band, etc.), and you do not follow my advice and the piece doesn't fit, there will be fees associated with modifying the piece to fit you.

Often, I am able to complete MADE TO ORDER / CUSTOM ORDER pieces within several days. However, if I have to order anything, it will take longer.... in that case, please allow up to 2 weeks before it's shipped out. If you're in a rush, be sure to let me know at time of purchase and I'll make every effort to expedite creating the piece for you. However, please note that this may result in a rush fee, especially during busy times, like wedding season and the holidays.

Metal prices are constantly in flux. If you request a price quote on a modification or commission, please note that the price quote is only valid for 3 days. After that, we will need to re-visit the price quote.

All items will be wrapped in tissue paper and an organza bag... ready to give as a gift for a friend or yourself.

METAL GAUGES - here's a general guideline to the different thicknesses of metal:
20 gauge ~.81mm (most of my ear wires are 20 gauge; some are 18 - and those listings always state that the ear wire is 18 gauge.)
18 gauge ~1.02mm
16 gauge ~1.29mm
14 gauge ~1.63mm
12 gauge ~2.05mm
10 gauge ~2.59mm
