Announcement    One of my first loves was reduction printmaking. Lino, wood, styrofoam, it didn't matter. I love carving and I love the process of printmaking. Lately I have been exploring this more and more and I am excited about the new developments including block printed T-shirts!

What you should know:
Most orders ship in 5 business days or less and I am happy to gift wrap your purchase for you. Custom orders take a little longer, but I am sure you understand! If you have something special in mind, but don't see it here, please feel free to message me and let's work something out. Thank you for stopping by!

What inspires the imagery?

My work employs an unexpected cast of anthropomorphic and human characters often depicted in relatable situations. Sometimes whimsical, other times provocative, I use animal imagery as a vehicle for discussing complex issues relating to belonging, struggle, perseverance and community. As an artist I am constantly searching for ideas and investigating materials. What I love now may change tomorrow, but the process of making is as necessary to me as breathing. I strongly believe that the material of a work can substantially affect the impact of a piece on a viewer and I am always looking for the best voice for my work. I have recently fallen in love with reduction printmaking for its ease in abstracting complicated emotions and for the moment I am happy exploring all that this process can do.

My name is Jillian Jenkins and I am the creator of JumpJack Studio in Baltimore, MD. I am a teacher, a student, an explorer, a tinkerer, an artist, and insatiably curious. The illustrations and funny characters that you will find at JumpJack are reflections of my musings and encounters, often the characters are inspired by the people in my life, I hope that you find as much joy in them as I have in creating them.
