About

I found myself in the studio.

Soon after the birth of my daughter, I felt a need to find some part of myself that was not just "mommy," to discover again who I really was. Inspired by the online community of artists and crafters, I returned to the creative self I had been as a child.

I tried my hand at many different types of craft, and I eventually realized that the creative things I enjoyed most stemmed out of a love for drawing. I didn't like embroidering other people's patterns; I liked drawing my own. I didn't like using a pre-made rubber stamp; I liked designing and carving my own. Clearly, I really liked drawing, and my creative focus has shifted steadily in that direction ever since.

I have been a storyteller since my childhood, when I typed words on hot pink paper on my parents' typewriter. I later went to school for English/writing, and I now translate my strong sense of story into my artwork. Most drawings start with a simple pencil sketch. I then paint them using watercolor and a variety of media, or I scan them and color them digitally, using painterly techniques. Trees and interactions between children and animals are recurring themes in my work.

I am fortunate to have a room in our house dedicated to creativity. It's home to all of my art supplies, fabric, yarn, etc., and also to an antique piano that I enjoy playing when I can't get myself to focus.

I share the space with my kids--I managed to clear out two drawers for their supplies, no easy feat!--and together we sit at the table in the middle of the room, with jars of pencils and markers in front of us, and we create together. It's been a wonderful thing to share this activity with them, because I can do what I like with the people I love and not feel guilty about spending time on it!

Best of all, I feel like I've finally found myself through this creative process, realized more fully who I am. I am a mommy (and love it), and I am also an artist. I love that I get to share that, get to share my "stories" with you.

Hello, and welcome to my shop! Making things makes me happy, and sharing those things with others makes me happy too. It's my hope that you'll find something here that makes you feel the same kind of happy!

Accepted payment methods

Payment
I use Paypal for all transactions. Paypal offers a highly secure means of payment.

Don't have a Paypal account? Never fear! You can use Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express through Paypal too, even if you don't have an account. After you submit your order, click the “Pay Now” button. Scroll down and you will see the option to pay with a credit or debit card without having to sign up for a PayPal account.

Packages will be shipped upon receipt of payment. If payment is not received within 3 days the transaction will be cancelled. If you choose to pay with Paypal eChecks, your item(s) will not ship until Paypal clears the funds (usually within 4-6 days). If you have any difficulty with payment, please do not hesitate to contact me!

According to my all-knowing tax guy, Pennsylvania residents are subject to 6% sales tax. Any purchases shipped to a PA address or picked up by hand in PA are also subject to 6% sales tax.
Shipping
Shipping prices are based on an item's weight and a small handling fee for packaging. I do my best to assign fair prices to each item.

If the buyer's address listed with Etsy differs from the address listed with Paypal, I will contact the buyer to determine which is the preferred address. If I have not received a response to that inquiry within 3 business days, I will automatically ship to the address listed with Etsy.

Items will be shipped via the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), First Class Parcel Post. I will ship packages inside the US with a tracking number or delivery confirmation for your convenience. International buyers who want tracking can request it at an extra cost.

Items will be processed for shipping within 1-3 business days. If there are any necessary delays to this schedule I will contact the buyer immediately. Once the items have been shipped, they should arrive between 2 and 5 business days, although this is entirely dependent on the USPS and cannot be guaranteed.

International customers can expect a delay to this schedule and are responsible for any and all customs fees and taxes as imposed by your country's individual guidelines.

Once items have been turned over to the USPS for shipping, they are out of my hands, and I cannot claim responsibility for them. This includes theft, damage, and lost items.

Please note that patterns are sold as electronic files, in PDF format, which will be e-mailed directly to the buyer within 48 hours of payment. No hard copy of the pattern will be sent to the buyer. There is no shipping fee for such purchases.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy with your purchase, so if for any reason you are not happy with your items when you receive them, please contact me by e-mail. I will be glad to accept returns* (minus shipping charges) if you contact me within 15 days of the item's shipment to receive return authorization. The item must be returned in unused condition, and you must have prior authorization from me. To receive return authorization, please contact me by e-mail.

Sorry, I cannot refund or reimburse shipping charges. Unless the error is mine, return shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer as well.

*Please note that all sales of electronic files, including PDFs, are final and non-returnable.
Additional policies and FAQs
All items come from a smoke free, cat friendly home. I will guarantee my products for 30 days from the date of shipment. If during this time you encounter a problem with the item, please contact me by e-mail so we can work out a reasonable solution.

I am willing to consider custom orders. Contact me by e-mail, and I will let you know if I have the availability.
