About

Mission: Happiness!

I opened my shop back in 2009, right around the time I was preparing to graduate with my BFA. I was doing a lot of printmaking and some painting, and made jewelry out of the leftover scraps as a way to de-stress.

It's been a crazy few years! My husband and I were married in 2012; I stumbled across flowers made with air dry clay while coming up with wedding ideas and decided to try making them myself. After I realized how much I enjoyed it, I made all the bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and a few other small things in time for our wedding.

I feel an increasing need to do what makes me happy and to then share it with others. To me, that's the essence of handmade: Something that makes you happy and that you connect with, whether you're making or buying. Right now I'm happiest when making my realistic clay flowers and painting tiny detailed watercolors. ◕ ◡ ◕

I make each flower by hand, one petal at a time, using a special air-dry clay that was formulated in Japan specifically for sculpting realistic flowers. I’ll often add additional detail using paints or pastels to make them look as lifelike as possible.

You can find my fine art prints & other papery whatsits at my other shop, WrenegadePress.etsy.com, and see more of my Spriggans, cats, & studio on my Tumblr at http://hellospriggan.tumblr.com/

I live in Maryland with my husband (Jarod) and three cats (Ivy, Zelda, & Loki). I drink copious amounts of hot tea and have a serious weakness for kimono.

Thank you for visiting Wrenegade Floral Designs!

If you read through my Policies and still have questions, drop me a line by Convo or email (WrenegadePress@gmail.com).

These have some really nice benefits over real flowers:

◦ Will not wilt or fade.
◦ Durable. These hold up well to the all-day handling of a wedding, and then some. When I made the flowers for our own wedding, we launched our toss bouquet with a catapult!
◦ Fragrance free. Will not trigger migraines or asthma, a concern with heavily scented real flowers.
◦ A lasting keepsake, gift, or heirloom. No extra preservation needed, just beautiful flowers for years to come.
◦ Never out of season, always available in the colors you need. I hand mix the clay for every project from basic primary colors, so almost any hue is possible!
◦ Great for home decor, holidays, gifts, weddings, prom, and other events. To discuss pricing and the timeline for your specific project, please contact me!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept payments by credit card directly through Etsy as well as through PayPal (you don't even need an account-- there is a credit/debit option). Kindly post payment within two days. Your order will ship after payment clears.

For custom orders: For orders over $150, payment is split into two parts. An initial deposit of $150 is required to secure materials and supplies and is payable before work begins. Packages ship without invoices (gift friendly!), please retain your Etsy or Paypal receipts for your own records.
Shipping
Orders ship via US Postal Service in sturdy boxes. At checkout you can choose from different USPS shipping options. Need a different mail carrier? Convo me with your ZIP code and your time frame, if you need it by a certain day, and I'll get back to you with a quote.

Buying a gift? I will gladly ship to a different address! Please let me know in the "Notes" section during checkout.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please contact me with any questions or to resolve any issues or shipping related damages. Unused items may be returned within 14 days for a full refund, minus all shipping charges.

I do my best to accurately portray and describe my work, and it is the buyer's responsibility to look over this information.

Custom or personalized orders may be eligible for return/exchange; these will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Custom orders can be canceled/refunded until work commences on your order, minus the cost of any supplies purchased specifically to complete your order.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am happy to take custom orders! By making something especially for you, we can tweak all the details (color, quantity, size, etc) so that your order is just right.

If you would like to commission something special, Convo me to discuss details and a time frame. If you are planning for a specific event or deadline please also provide the date. This will give me the opportunity to make up samples or order in supplies if necessary, and ensure your peace of mind throughout the process!
