5 out of 5 starsThis is a most incredible piece! It is absolutely stunning and will command a position superior to everything else in a room. It is really beautiful art and built from scratch with very expensive and unique components. Well worth every penny and then some. I expected it to be good, but not this good. Can't think of enough superlatives. Thanks, Josh. It was worth the wait.

About JWKinseyArtificer
The Evolution of a Skill Set
My background is in fine art, and I have a degree in Computer Graphic Imaging. My career path began in the Silicon Valley workforce as an interface designer and digital artist. From there I owned and operated a high-end custom cabinet shop: it was here that I began to develop and nurture my wood and metal working skills. This has culminated in my current endeavor, J.W. Kinsey’s Artifice, a small artisan shop specializing in the creation of unique, design-driven projects focusing on timeless beauty and craftsmanship.
I believe that creating a bespoke object that is uncompromising in both quality and timeless design is a noble pursuit.
I have deep convictions about both construction integrity and cohesive design, and integrate masterful craft techniques with quality materials in my pursuit of heirloom quality pieces. Within any project, every part is handmade for its specific application within the overall design (other than the obvious fasteners, fittings, and various electrical components). Typically, adhesives are not used in the assembly of the various parts (meaning, for example, this metal fitting is not hot-glued to that wood piece). Rather, every part is attached mechanically: every sculpture can be disassembled in its entirety with a screwdriver, Allen wrench, and socket set.
Surface treatments can typically include gilding, cold- and electro-plating, enamels and lacquers, and the use of various chemical patinas and color stains. Construction materials include the royal metals, high-grade hardwoods, mica, industrial-grade resin, and glass.
My work has been stylistically consistent since the mid 1990s, inspiration primarily deriving from a vintage-industrial motif. Currently, this falls within the aesthetic coined Steampunk.
I have had my work published in several prestigious art books, have won several unique awards, and my pieces sell internationally.
And most importantly, I can ride a unicycle.
