Welcome to KaftanSarafan!

Below is information that you may find useful.

HOME TEXTILES:
Most of my textile items are made of/contain vintage silk / wool. Because silk and wool don't withstand water treatment or agitation of drying well those items should be dry cleaned only and when the fabrics are colourfast, hand washed.

It is important to note that although the vintage fabrics have been carefully unstitched, dry cleaned and ironed, there could be minor creases and discoloration (darker or lighter permanent stains) on the silk which are hardly noticeable and can be reasonably tolerated in a vintage item.

If you are purchasing a cushion cover I can supply a cushion the cover will fit: duck feather cushion for an additional EUR8.00 ($11.20) or a hollowfibre for the allergy sufferers for EUR6.50 ($9.10). However, it doesn't make sense to purchase a cushion from me unless you are in Ireland and I suggest that you buy locally as delivery charges will be very high (around $30! to the US; in Ireland it is EUR6.50).

To keep costs low for you I tend to recycle packaging so generally your purchase will be packed with security for the item in mind. Whenever possible I pack my cushion covers so they fit into a 'large envelope' category for postal purposes and this is the cheapest way of posting.

VINTAGE ITEMS:
Vintage items will usually have some signs of age (tarnished, rusted etc.) even if they are unused. I inspect and clean my items thoroughly and describe their condition as accurately as I can in the item description and photos.

If you need a gift wrap, please let me know and I will be glad to arrange.

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
Please make sure you are satisfied you have enough information about the item you are considering to purchase. I am happy to provide exhaustive information, including more high resolution photos. If you wish to return an item for whatever reason, you must contact me first. I will accept returns within 3 weeks of purchase, if the item is returned in its original condition. I will issue a refund with the exception of the shipping fee. Shipping for return has to be covered by the buyer.
Payment
I can accept credit cards through Paypal only. Exception is: in Ireland I can accept cheques by Irish banks, cash (please contact me first) . You don't have to have a Paypal account to purchase: Paypal will allow you to use it as a guest if you have a Visa, Mastercard or Discovery credit cards.

Important: Many countries collect taxes on imported goods. They are the responsibility of the customer so please find out about them before purchasing.
Shipping
I can offer standard postage (no tracking/no insurance) or Registered (tracking and insurance) which is highly recommended. I have no control over standard postage once I hand them over to the post office. If you wish to post by registered post with tracking and insurance, please convo me about the cost. You can get an idea of the postal charges on the Irish post website: www.anpost.ie (prices in Euros)

Please note that in certain instances (especially if you are purchasing more than 2 items) shipping cost needs to be adjusted slightly (either up or down). This
is because a lightweight item that ships free with another item may increase the total package weight to bring it into the next weight bracket which means it will cost more, usually insignificantly. All information on shipping costs is contained at the Irish Postal Services website: http://www.anpost.ie/AnPost/PostalRates/Standard+Post.htm

From my experience post from Ireland reaches most worldwide destination in between 4 to 10 days. Please be patient if your item takes longer than usual. Officially Irish postal services claim that it can take up to 45 days.

Countries I have posted to so far are: USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, Finland, Singapore, Italy, France, Norway, Belgium, Switzerland, China, Qatar, The Netherlands, Croatia.
Additional policies and FAQs
As a standard I use recycled and minimum packaging (as long as it is safe for the item) for least environmental impact as well as lower cost for customer. If you need a gift-wrap please let me know and I will be happy to arrange.
