Announcement   Welcome to the original vintage kimono clutch bag shop on etsy! My shops specializes in handbags and purses made from vintage Japanese kimonos imported from Japan, then made into a one of a kind creation. The end result is that no two clutches are ever completely alike and the quality surpasses other bags available.

********As seen in the Raleigh, News and Observer Style section!! **********

There are many shops trying to duplicate these special bags, but no one has my selection, experience or quality with a one-of-a-kind vintage kimono kisslock clutch. So why settle for less?

Not finding exactly what purse bag you are looking for? Please check out my "sold" section. Although kimono fabric is in very limited quantities, I sometime have enough to make another kimono handbag. I would love to work with you to find your perfect clutch!

Keep checking back for new styles. I am always awaiting a shipment of vintage kimono fabric from the historic district of Tokamachi Niigata, Japan and always eager to make a new clutch creation.

Make sure to "like" me on facebook at facebook.com/kaleidoscopebyerin.

All of my listings, unless noted, are ready for shipping within two business days using USPS Priority Mail (in the US).

I am very pleased with my purchase. I got this to give a friend for Christmas and had a hard time parting with it. The fabric is beautiful.

About

Something different, something unique.

I started out on etsy, like many others, in jewelry. Not long after starting I knew the creative side of me needed to go in another direction. I needed to find something unique. Something different. Something not necessarily "peacock".
My Grandmother was always fond of the Japanese culture and her birthday was a few weeks away. After a few nights of brainstorming, I decided to make a clutch with a kimono I had come across from Japan. Since I enjoy history and have always been drawn towards the tradition and beauty that is Japan itself, I decided to continue to use their kimonos for my next etsy shop endeavor.
I'm lucky that not only can I express my creativity through my craft, but also lucky enough to learn more about the traditional dress of Japan every time I receive a shipment in the mail.
And so it continues, years later...

I take pride in my work and only trust the highest quality supplies to achieve my finished product. I strongly believe in the, "you get what you pay for" philosophy and include my high standards in all of my products. I go the extra length to ensure an item with stands the test of time, like double stitch my bags.
