Greetings and salutations, fellow etsy fans. I am thrilled to share my creations with you, and anticipate a long relationship with the etsy community. Please check back often as my store is constantly evolving, and I am only getting started!
I am an artist as well as an art therapist, and am constantly creating one thing or another. So you can expect lots of different pieces from all sorts of materials, including living plants, wire, ceramics, textiles, found objects, mixed media, and pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I love playing with the duality of man and nature, and incorporate natural objects into the design of many of my one-of-a-kind creations.
I welcome human contact in this technological age, so please hit me up with a conversation, and we can chat more about my artistic process, materials used, and so on. I also love to collaborate with folks, and am happy to turn your spark of an idea into a reality. Thanks for stopping by, and I appreciate your feedback.

Returns and exchanges
I trust the USPS to get your package to you safely. I choose not to refund items lost or damaged in transit during shipping. If for some reason you receive something other than your exact purchase, I will absorb costs for straightening out the mix-up (please send me a photo of what you received within 48 hours). The plants come with detailed care instructions, so keeping them happy and healthy is up to you. In the unlikely event that an air plant dies within fourteen days of purchase, I will send you a replacement plant of the same or similar variety at no expense to you.
Currently I accept Paypal and direct etsy checkout as payment for my wares. I ask that you respectfully make payment within 3 days of indicated purchase, and I reserve the right to relist the item if payment is not received within that time frame. This is of particular importance when ordering the live plants.
I strive to ship your purchases within 72 hours of received payment. I carefully package the items and can combine shipping for some items. The air plant sculptures arrive in a triangular tube box, and no more than one can be shipped at a time. However, smaller items may be shipped along in this box (the best way to work out the details and discounts is through a conversation). I ship priority and standard USPS, and can offer an insurance option (but, buyer must cover insurance expenses). If you would like to upgrade your shipping options, please indicate through a conversation with me.

DEAL ALERT: If you are local to the Asheville, North Carolina area (like me), then you can eliminate shipping costs by meeting me somewhere in town for a (gasp!) face-to-face exchange.

Since these make great gifts for your loved ones, I am happy to drop ship directly to the lucky person in your life and even send a handmade card along with your personal message. Just let me know upon purchase.

Of course, I am happy to entertain any questions you may have about shipping.

TILLANDSIA (AIR PLANT) CARE INSTRUCTIONS: (also come with each purchase)

Tillandsias belong to the Bromeliad species, and most will bloom and reproduce quite easily. They do not need soil, as they get needed nutrients from the air. Here is how to best care for your new air plant…

Air plants will grow either indoors or outdoors, as long as temperatures do not reach the freezing point.

LIGHT: Lighting for air plants should be bright but filtered (April- October). They should not be left in the direct sun in the summer months (this will cause the plant to become sunburned). They love direct sun (November- March). Tillandsias may be grown in the house directly in front of a window or where there is a great deal of natural light. Fresh moving air circulation is important, and the most important care need is bright filtered light. Trees, overhangs, and window tinting can rob your plants of needed light. Place plants no further away than 3 feet from a window. (Although, my house is fairly dark, and I’ve had plants thrive for over two years and counting!)

WATER: (Non-chlorinated water is best-- I use de-ionized or reverse osmosis water) Thoroughly wet your air plant about once a week or more often in hot, dry climates, and less often in cool, humid environments. Plants may be submerged in a bowl of water (about 30 seconds) or misted with a spray bottle. (I alternate between these two approaches and it works well). Air plants typically grow in rainforests, so mimicking that environment will be beneficial to the plant. Tillandsias will not survive in standing water. Do not keep plants constantly wet or moist, as this will cause the plant to rot. Under-watering is evidenced by an exaggeration of the natural concave curve of each leaf.

AIR CIRCULATION: Following each watering, air plants should be given enough light and air circulation to dry in no longer than 4 hours. Keeping them in their wire holders during watering and drying cycles will provide the best air circulation for plant health.

TEMPERATURE: Optimal temperature range for tillandsias is between 50-90 degrees F.

FERTILIZER: Fertilizer is not necessary, but will encourage your plant to bloom and propagate. Use Bromeliad fertilizer (twice a month is recommended). Other water-soluble fertilizers can be used at ¼ strength if Bromeliad fertilizer is unavailable.
