A Dream in Steam
My mother-in-law taught me how to make beaded jewelry about five years ago. It was not long before I was addicted. I have taken classes on wire wrapping and metalwork, but most of my other techniques are self taught from magazines and books. Combined with my love of fantasy and my husband's mastery of Victorian literature, I found myself emerged in Steampunk and I have never looked back. The fantasy genre of Victorian Steampunk is my obsession and almost everything I create shows this influence. It got to the point that I created so many pieces that I could never wear them all in my lifetime...so Dream in Steam was born.
This shop is my salvation from the "real world." Making jewelry is my hobby, not my career, so I only charge my clients enough to buy more supplies to keep my hobby going. Maybe some day that will change, but I am happy with my little shop the way it is for now. Until then, I continue to Dream in Steam!
