Announcement   Hi everyone!

Welcome to my online shop Kanela, formerly Evelyn Villegas Jewelry! Everything you come across is 100% original, unique, affordable, and all handmade by me. Make sure you take a look around, there's something for everyone....enjoy! Also, be sure to "like" me on facebook at: www.facebook.com/KanelaStyle.

Brief History of where Peruvian Point originated:

Kanela is on FB and Etsy (www.facebook.com/KanelaStyle) to showcase a personal interpretation to the Peruvian Weave jewelry making technique. In Peru we have always had great teachers of this technique, because it is an unchanged style that has been passed on from generation to generation for many centuries.

So that you are able to familiarize yourselves, it shares some similarities to crochet. Although Peruvian Weave is a style that was not originally developed in Peru, having originated in Spain and Portugal, it was quickly taken to the Americas by the conquistadors who came to colonize South America. This jewelry making technique was perfected in the cities of Huamanga, Ayacucho, and Huancayo Peru, where we adopted and perfected it.

I have continued this process, modernizing the technique while creating unique pieces of my own. Thank you for stopping by and sharing my passion....recognized as one of the finest jewelry styles in the world!!

About

I came from Peru looking for a dream...

In the initial stages, Kanela (formerly Evelyn Villegas Jewelry) began in Peru, and has since transferred to the United States.

I'm on Etsy and Facebook, promoting my business Kanela to showcase a personal and modernized interpretation of an ancient Peruvian jewelry making technique. In Peru we have always had great teachers of this technique, because it is an unchanged style that has been passed on from generation to generation for many centuries. So that you are able to familiarize yourselves, it shares some similarities to crochet. Although this is a style that was not originally developed in Peru (it originates in Spain and Portugal), it was quickly taken to South America by the conquistadors. This jewelry making ability was perfected in the cities of Huamanga, Ayacucho, and Huancayo Peru, where we adopted and perfected it. I have converted this into a style of my own, and am happy to show you the beautiful jewelry that I create and sell, mixing the "old" with the "new".
