Announcement   I love vintage. So did my entire family. When it was new and shiny, they bought it by the truckload and filled their houses with it. Now it's all come down to me . . . and I already had a house full of vintage.

Come on inside . . . you'll find jewelry, hats, gloves, clothing, books, toys, home dec items (knicknacks, linens, wall art) and kitchen goodies belonging to my packrat great grandmom, two great-aunts, one aunt, one godmother and my mom, plus a few of my own goodies thrown in for variety. To keep it fun, I'm always on the lookout for more vintage goodness. I can't keep it all, but having it in my hands while it's waiting for a new home is enough.

If you're looking for something and don't see it, please message me -- it may simply not be photographed and listed yet. If you've been looking for it forever, it may just be in the Attic!

About

Digging out from an avalanche of vintage goodness. Won't you give a girl a hand?

I come from a family of packrats - grandmoms, aunts, cousins, mother. All of them loved stuff, and eventually I ended up with most of it. Plus all the stuff I'd accumulated myself over the years.

I started my shop to try to clean out the accumulation of the ages, and to share some of the wonderful things my relatives had collected.

In the beginning, I loved having all those things -- I'd waited for years for some of them -- but I came to realize that I rarely wore or used any of the pieces I loved. Now, as I've begun the process of sorting and listing items, I find that I'm wearing my remaining vintage pieces more frequently; I kept the ones that were special to me and now they aren't lost in the crowd, I enjoy them much more.

My feelings about vintage have changed over the years as well. Originally I was adamant that it had to be kept pristine and worn only with appropriate vintage garments, but that attitude is gone with the wind. This stuff has lived for a long time, and it deserves to live in the world we have now, not sit in a box somewhere, waiting for . . . what, the return of the 1930s?

I do draw the line for certain pieces, but I love finding old embroidered linens that have a spot or some damage, because then I don't feel guilty about cutting them up and making something new -- that will get worn. How many embroidered tablecloths does any one woman actually need, anyway? Especially when they're still in the original folds from the great-uncles sending them home from Occupied Japan. Really.

So please, come in, look around. Poke into the corners, pick things up (virtually, anyway) and always, always, feel free to ask questions.

Thanks for stopping by.

Growing up, I loved that my relatives' homes were full of knicknacks, boxes of clothes and jewelry for me to play dress up. Then I realized that abundance meant they never got rid of anything. And now it's all mine. Or maybe it can be yours?

Vintage clothing sizes are different than modern clothing sizes, therefore, I provide FLAT MEASUREMENTS for all the garments I sell. To see if an item will fit you, take a garment in your current wardrobe, place it on a flat surface and measure and compare with the measurements provided in the listing.
