Round Table Yarns focuses on tonal and semi-solid colors of hand-dyed yarn

Howdy! I'm Karen, the dyer behind Round Table Yarns. With this yarn company, I combine my two passions: yarn and Arthurian literature. But mostly I am passionate about sharing those two loves with you.

When I left academia several years ago (my background is medieval literature), the thing I missed the most was interacting with my students and getting to share the stories I love with them. I wanted to find a way that I could still share those stories outside a classroom environment. Thus, when I decided to start dyeing yarn, I realized I could do that through the names I use for my yarn bases and colors. And Round Table Yarns was born.

Along with some beautiful yarn colors that are perfect for your projects, especially if you work with cables or lace, you'll also find the stories behind the names of the colorways. So pull up a chair and pull out your latest project as you read through the listings and discover some of the characters and places that make up the stories of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table.

Here are what some of my recent customers have been saying:

"Wow! This yarn is gorgeous and so soft!! Quick shipping, too!! I'll definitely be back!" ~Stacy

"Loved the yarn and the packaging was so great- loved the muslin bag with logo! It's going to make a great gift." ~mentalcollage

"Yarn is even prettier in real life than in the picture! Karen's product and service is superb! Love it!!!" ~Deborah Polley

"This yarn is lovely! Very vibrant colours and very soft! Thank you :-)" ~joeannechandler

Frequently asked questions
Care instructions

All yarns are hand dyed by me using an immersion dyeing method and professional acid dyes. I rinse the yarn until the water runs clear, but make sure to hand wash in cold water to avoid any color runoff.

If using more than one skein in a project, even if the skeins were dyed together, for best results alternate skeins to prevent an abrupt color change.

Cats and Non-Smoking Home

My home is non-smoking but I do have three cats and as much as I try to keep the knitting and spinning away from them, cat hair does seem to wind up everywhere. If you have severe allergies to cat hair, you might not want to buy one of my items. I apologize for that inconvenience.
