This is SO lovely! I'm seriously happy with this custom piece. It's exactly what I'd hoped for, and it is sized perfectly. Your nice tight quality of the workmanship is great, and your colors are just what I wanted. Thanks so much!

I received this beauty on Valentine's Day 2010, and what a wonderful gift! I am an avid collector of artisan jewlery, and this peice is by far the most magnificent in my collection. It is beyond beautiful and it is also extremely comfortable to wear. I will definately begin collecing Karen's work!!!!!

Thanks for the cuff! It turned out just the way I wanted it to be. It's great that you do custom order, and you're really good at it! I'm gonna wear it a lot! =)
The Deepest Well
I have always been an artist. Creativity runs through every aspect of my life, and I find it impossible to sit still and not create. From poetry, to theatre, to fibre arts, to drawing, to sculpture, I have always got a tool in my hand and an idea in my mind.
Beadweaving began as a hobby for me. A thing to occupy my hands and my time with dipping into the deep well of creativity that exists in my soul. A family friend taught me my first pattern when I was ten, and from then on I would make trinkets for myself and gifts for friends. In university, friends began to commission pieces from me, and I soon started selling through several different local shops, before getting into online selling in 2006. In 2009, I graduated from university and moved to Toronto to pursue my theatrical career. While working unpaid internships and short contracts, I found a day job working in a bead store. My skills and knowledge grew by leaps and bounds during the couple of years that I spent working and teaching classes there.
After the bead store closed, I stopped making jewelry for a while. I was fatigued after fighting through the store's last, painful months of trying to keep open, and thought that my creativity with beads had been tapped out. I put away my glass and stones, my needles and thread, and sent my creativity off in other directions.
In 2012 I got the itch again -- that deep well of creativity was still there, it had just been running low for a while. Filled with new energy, I've begun to create again, crafting new pieces in a slightly more mature style. I'm looking forwards to finding new depths and directions in which to develop my skills. But my theatrical career does come first, and so for the moment I'm not listing much. I'm happy to do custom orders, though, so please do contact me if you're itching to have something I've made!

I've been designing and creating my own beadwoven pieces since I was 10 years old, and teaching classes on beadweaving since my early 20s. I love to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces that you won't see anywhere else.
