Karen Lynn Link Fine Art

My name is Karen Link and I’m a visual artist working in sunny Arvada, Colorado. I paint primarily in acrylics on canvas, but have been known to experiment with a variety of materials including inks, oils, charcoals, pastels, collage, and on other supports like mat board, and print making paper.

I am currently painting a series of landscapes based around Highway 93 between Boulder and Golden, Colorado. These paintings take a unusual look at familiar landscapes as well as other not so well known areas slightly off the beaten path. I came to painting landscapes from an interest in how people relate to their environments as well as wanting to strengthen the environments in my figurative work. I spend a huge amount of time on the west side of the northern suburbs and these areas are ripe for artistic inspiration.

I’m also inspired by a variety of artists, including Pierre Bonnard, Richard Diebenkorn, Elmer Bischoff, Wayne Thiebaud, Wolf Kahn, and John Hull. I probably could list 100 more, but this is my short list.

My work was recently shown at the Colorado Community College System exhibition space at their administrative offices at Lowry. In 2010, I was in an exhibition at Spark Gallery in Denver with Lydia Brokaw and Polly Chang as well as a group exhibition at Colorado State University, Pueblo campus. I have also exhibited at Foothills Art Center and the Arvada Center. My work was also included in an invitational exhibition for the Colorado State University’s Presidents Office on the campus in Ft. Collins.

I have been painting and drawing since 1988. I earned my Bachelor’s of Fine Art in Painting and Drawing in 2000 from the University of Colorado at Denver and my Master’s of Fine Art in Painting from Colorado State University in 2007. I also studied at the Art Students League of Denver in 1996 and Colorado Institute of Art in 1990.

I am also fortunate to have been involved with many art organizations in a variety of capacities over the years. I have taught at Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado State University (as a graduate student), and Foothills Art Center, where among other things I was the Marketing Coordinator. I was a member of The Sliding Door Gallery and The Artists Guild cooperatives. I owned a gallery in Denver from 1999-2001. I also volunteered with the South Westminster Artists Group, Arvada Art Studio Tour, Louisville Art Association, Ron Judish Fine Arts, and Alternative Arts Alliance.

Paintings and drawings are sold unframed. While many can be displayed unframed, it is recommended that you consider a frame that is best suited to your personal tastes or decor for a cleaner and more professional look.

Paintings come varnished and should need no further care except to be occasionally dusted with a soft, dry, lint free cloth. If cleaning is required, use tepid to warm water and a soft, lint free cloth. Avoid soaps, other cleaning agents, or solvents as well as tissues or paper towels as these may damage the painting.
The help of a professional is highly recommended.

Drawings cannot be cleaned without the help of a professional.

To ensure your work of art stays fresh and new for many decades to come, hang your art out of direct sunlight which can alter colors or fade them completely.

Each painting is carefully packaged to safely arrive to you. Please avoid using sharp objects to open your package. In any case where a special shipping carton is used, unpacking instructions will be forwarded to you.

Note: Colors and brightness in the images vary on different computers. The images, as viewed on my computer, are representative of how the work looks in person.

Images in my shop represent original works of art created by myself, Karen Lynn Link. Downloading of images representative of my work or sale of my work does not transfer copyright nor the rights to distribute or reproduce it.
