Another beautiful creation from Karen Meyers. I have to switch glasses frequently, and my friends all love my felted wool glasses cases!

About

A Little Bit About Me

I’ve always been a thrift store shopper but had the tendency to buy clothes made from beautiful fabrics and textures and to ignore the small detail that they didn’t fit. One day I took a look around my sewing room full of misfit clothes and thought, “things are really starting to pile up around here!” That was the day I made my first bag from a lovely Irish Wool sweater. I fell in love with the process and the product and now 5 years later I’d still rather work with ¼ yard of a fabulous vintage fabric or a sweater with a few moth holes than unlimited yardage of fabric any day. Being limited by my supplies keeps the creative juices flowing and keeps me endlessly entertained and inspired. I now collect sweaters, belts, leather skirts, jean skirts, blankets, ties and wool coats all of which make their way into my bags in some form or another.

It's still pretty messy in my sewing room, and full to the brim with wool sweaters, but I at least now I have a pretty good excuse to keep collecting. I never know what gem is awaiting me at the next thrift store, and the hunt is thrilling!
