I love creating lots of different animal species and the choices are endless. There is always a cheeky squirrel about...
-
A blending board and hand carders are very useful tools to create the perfect colour and texture for each animal.
-
I have wool stored everywhere, but for smaller amounts and to keep all colours handy these organisers work very well.
-
It keeps amazing me what you can do with some wool and needles. Here's a group portrait. Some are best friends already!

Big cats are some of my favourite animals to create. Still a few species that I didn't get around to making yet...
A passion for wildlife
I have been a wildlife photographer for many years, but I also love working with fabric & fibres. For me needle felting is a perfect combination. I love shaping the wool into lots of different animal sculpture and hope you like these wooly creatures too.

Karen
Owner, Needle Felter
Born in The Netherlands, I moved to the Scottish Highlands in 2005 when I felt city life was getting too busy. I love nature and wildlife and since I discovered needle felting I really enjoy trying to recreate animals in great detail using wool.

Frequently asked questions
How environmental friendly is the packaging?
Your order will be sent in plastic-free packaging, using cardboard boxes, tissue paper, paper parcel tape and plant-based sellotape. Please REUSE or RECYCLE all the packaging as appropriate for your country.
What materials do you use for your needle felted animals?
The needle felted animals are made from a blend of natural or dyed sheep wool (various breeds) around a frame of galvanised iron wire. For some creatures bamboo fibres are added to make the blend a bit more shiny. The eyes are either needle felted or beads, preferrably glass, but not all sizes are available in glass. For the nails I sometimes use acryllic paint or nailpolish to give them the appropriate colour.
