Pots with added rustic charm
I started making again in 2011 after the flower shop I was working in closed. Around the same time my mum and dad were getting rid of their old pottery equipment and asked if I would want it. Suddenly I had everything but a kiln. So I saved my last few wage packets did some odd jobs and hey presto a new Kiln arrived in July that year. I cleared out our garden shed and moved all my equipment in.
I have been designing in my head for years, ever since I finished work at Hornsea pottery, where I worked as a tableware designer. So i had a clear idea what my pots would look like.
I spent that first summer working on my designs until I had a reasonable range of stuff to sell. My kids school was holding a Christmas craft fair so I booked a table and did really well.
People kept mentioning Etsy as a possible out let, but it took an artist friend to convince me that my work was good enough. So here we are bang up to date I opened my shop in January 2012, learning as I go along improving my shop and stock. the whole techno world doesn't come naturally.
Getting my first sales have spured me on, so hopefully my shop will go from strength to strength.
Its now 2016 and wow were has the time gone! My Etsy shop is doing great. I have a lot of sales under my belt some hiccups along the way but my customers are amazing and we work things out together. I have some regular customers and have done a number of custom orders for people. I have shipped all over the world, which is the thing I find most incredible!
I now have my work in a number of UK gallery's Funky Aardvark in both Chester and Teignmouth Devon. Two doors studio in Alsager, Cheshire. The gallery in the gardens in Buxton Derbyshire. I can also be found as a regular at Rode hall farmers market near Congleton in Cheshire, first Saturday of the month. I also provide soap and shaving dishes for a local soap maker.
Im still in my little shed and could not be happier!

I first sunk my hands in clay when i was 4, i still have my first piece hanging in my shed. its a plaque of my mum, she looks alot like Mr Potato head on it! Since then I have been hooked. Ive tryed different things but the clay always calls me back.
