A Passion Found

As a child, I was always drawn to making art. My parents supported me, dedicating a desk at home with paper and art supplies to let me create whatever I wanted. From origami flowers to dreamcatchers to paintings, I was constantly creating a new masterpiece. In schooling, I always found art class to be my favorite and an important outlet during my day. My art teacher inspired me which is why I eventually chose to become an art teacher myself.

I took a leap of faith and decided to be an art major in college. At the end of freshman year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I chose Art education as my major. To share my passion with children was my calling. Then as a sophomore, I found photography. Black and white film was my first class and I fell in love. I loved the darkroom and the process to adjusting a print, dodging and burning, finding the correct filter, the correct exposure time, to make that perfect print.

This marriage of art education and photography came together in my second teaching job out of college. I now teach digital art and photography at the high school level, working with freshman through seniors. My students inspire me everyday and seeing them succeed and find their passion is incredibly rewarding.

While teaching art is my career, I am still an artist. My creative passion has been photography for the past 12 years and I have worked to hone my craft and refine my portfolio. In the summer of 2015, I decided to take my passion and share it with others, opening my Etsy shop offering fine art prints of nature and architecture photography.

From the softness of light filtering through a flower petal to the gradient of color found in a changing leaf in fall, my work focuses on capturing those fleeting moments found in the world around us. Through careful attention to principles of design and composition, my work seeks to offer new perspectives to the natural world around us. My shop features images from my own garden, surrounding parks, and far away places (for me!) such as Paris and Como.

In urban landscapes and architecture, I seek to highlight the beauty of the structures through their harmonious use of repetition, line, color, and the way light plays on the surface. Chicago is home to so many beautiful examples of modern architecture. My shop features images from Chicago, Paris, Munich, Como, and various cities across the United States.

I hope you enjoy the beauty of these natural and manmade wonders as I have captured them in print. If there is an image you’d like printed ready to hang on canvas or metal or printed as a custom size or finish, please message me. I welcome custom orders!

Returns and exchanges
I work hard to make all customers 100% satisfied with their purchase. If you are not completely satisfied with the print that you receive, please feel free to contact me within 10 days of receipt and I will be glad to provide a refund or exchange, provided you return the item(s) in the same condition they were sent in. Please note- the buyer is responsible for return postage and you will be refunded the cost of the item itself. Custom orders (canvas wraps, metal aluminum prints, acrylic prints) are not refundable, they can only be exchanged for the same item in the event that there is an issue with shipping.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please note, the cost shown in the shop does not include customs charges as, unfortunately, I have no way of predicting this for each country or purchase. The buyer will be responsible for all customs charges as levied upon delivery. Please refer to your local customs office for more information. Returns, due to customs fees, will not be accepted.

Every effort is taken to double and triple secure items for delivery should a shipping issue occur, please contact me directly and I would be happy to work with you.
Payment
I accept payment by PayPal and credit card, as well as through Etsy Direct Checkout.

I ship prints only after payment has cleared. If you have any questions about the checkout process, please contact me so that I can assist you with the payment process. If you've placed an order but would like to cancel or change it, please let me know within 24 hours after the order has been placed.
Shipping
I will combine items when shipping, at a discounted price, so please take a look at my other available prints and inquire if you have any questions.

Upon receipt of payment, each print will be printed at my professional lab to order. I will then ship your prints to you at your Etsy listed address, so please verify this is accurate. Any shipments returned to me due to incorrectly listed address will only be sent again at your payment of shipping.

I ship 5x7 and 8x10 prints in rigid mailers in cello plastic sleeves via USPS First Class mail, a speedy option that also saves you on shipping fees. For 11x14, 16 x20, and 20 x 30 prints, I wrap each print in protective paper, roll, and ship via sturdy mailing tubes so that your prints will not get bent during transit. These also are sent via USPS First Class Mail. Orders shipping within the US are shipped via usps first class and include delivery confirmation. Orders shipped outside the US are sent via First Class International or Priority Mail International, depending on the size of the print.

If there is a delay for any reason, i will keep you aware of it.

Insurance, faster shipping, etc, is also available if requested, at cost.
