About

My fairy-tale world

Hi,
my name is Karolina Krawczyk. I live in Wroclaw, a beautiful Polish city of the hundred bridges, where I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Faculty of Ceramics. I’m a designer of applied and unique ceramics. My adventure with ceramics began in high school, when my mom sent me on the pottery summer course, not to be bored at home :) It turned out that clay is my passion, and ceramics became my life.

Currently, me and my colleagues co-create the ceramic studio where each of us works on her own projects. I’m also the founder of Pangzi Ceramics, where I present and promote my products.

My works are everyday articles, but each of them is original and unique. At the same time every object tells a story. I’m interested in drawing as well, so I try to transfer expression, creativity and lightness of drawing onto porcelain material. Thanks to such transfer shapes and figures drawn by me, so far existing only on the paper, may get a physical manifestation as three-dimensional creations. This allows me to introduce a piece of fairy-tale creatures from the paper into the real world and fulfill my dreams and fantasies.

My favorite material is porcelain, which offers many possibilities. Porcelain, like no other stuff, allows me to obtain interesting results, by using different techniques. That’s why I like porcelain so much and use it most of all materials. With adequate formation and texture I’m able to express, for example, the nature of human body – the theme that often appears in my works. When I’m working on a form, I make a ‘drawing in space’. At the same time porcelain lets me precisely reproduce geometric and sharp shapes, that are specific to my applied ceramics. Many of my applied ceramics works are inspired by modern design’s tendency to recycle everyday use objects. I find it fascinating, that those objects can really transform, they can get a second life as a totally different things, with different appearance and purpose.

Every piece in my shop has been designed and hand-crafted by me with diligence, commitment and passion. I care about the highest quality of everything I create. Everyone who loves porcelain and beautiful objects will find something interesting here, and will be able to take a piece of my fairy-tale world into his own place on Earth.

Thank you for visiting my shop and enjoy the shopping :)
